iPhone 5 CALL FAILURE on Vodafone Mumbai

I got an iPhone 5 from Heera Panna, 64 GB, but often calls fail on that.

The calls are dropped though I have a full signal at my home at Hajiali (and where I used iPhone 4 with no problems at all).


Already tried removing all apps, upgrading to 6.0.2, a new vodafone SIM card,

Resetting Network Settings. Nothing works.


Can you suggest what to do? I think the iPhone 5 was bought in Singapore and the model is MD663ZA


Apple support in India said that I can exchange it for another piece only at an Apple store abroad. But they

have no clue about the problem or solution.


Would appreciate your input.

Replacement for the iPhone 5 received! And its working fine so far.

1. I didn't set it up as a new phone instead I restored it from the backup.

2. I didn't download the carrier update (from Vodafone) in iTunes/phone.

3. I didn't upgrade the iOS to 6.0.2. It is still 6.0.1.

4. I simply registered the phone with my apple ID.

5. It took 6 working days to replace the phone. As I deposited it on Thur, 10 Jan and received it on Thrus 17 Jan.

I had got the replacement around a week back (Restored it with 6.0.2 and set as a new phone) and now its again starting to drop calls.Its less frequent than the previous phone but the problem still persists.Called up the customer care again and they said i have to call the Apple telephone support on 18004250744.I called them and they are asking me to check the phone with SIM from another supported network (Airtel or Aircel).I checked with another SIM and problem is still there. Replacement again??

Hi Guys Riaan here in south africa

I have the very same problem and yes it is a bug but no one can tell me if it is a software or hardware bug. I have IPhone 5 32GB.

ok so tryu the following

reboot your phone

then try and call ( you will get call failed)

then go to settings

then click on phone

then click on show my caller ID

It will then update from network

now try and call again you will see you can call


I have been to the apple store and to my service provider no one can answer me on this. I have now requested a new phone as my phone is not yet a month old.

Guys just try these steps bcos it solved my problem-

1. Take your sim or nano sim whatever out

2. Reboot your phone after putting your sim again

4. Go to settings >phone>caller id

5. Yes i know its greyed out but be sure to check it if its on and then try making a call.

I too was having the same problem since one month but luckily i did it and my problem was solved

Just try your luck and if doesnt work better sue apple!
