Can I put DDR3 1333 memory into a late 2012 Mac mini?

Late 2012's obviously come stock with 1600 ram, but only 4 gb. (2x2gb)

I haave another PC machine with 8GB (2x4gb) ddr3 1333.

If I swap the two, will either have trouble?

I'm pretty sure the 1600 will clock down accordingly but I dont know for sure.

Sorry to bring up this old thread. I just want to ask, have you had any problem with the mac mini that's using 1333 mhz ram (instead of 1600 mhz)? its been a year since the last time you mentioned about it and I'd like to do the same if it works for you.

It all depends on the specific memory used. Some work and some do not. The only way is to try
