what key settings should i have in order to get a midi signal from my audiophile(which i have my keyboard connected to)? This is definitely a settings issue not wiring.

can't seem to get a signal when i play my keyboard. i know this is not a wiring issue because it worked on my old computer (before the hard drive died)....trying to set up logic 9 which i just downloaded from app store. what should the "environment" look like? certain midi in out settings? sorry i am a newbie and my friend set it up last time i did this.

seems the driver works on initial reboot but if i close down logic and open again there is no sound. have to reinstall driver each time in order to get sounds. does this sound like an incompatibility issue? i am just confused about this because i can get a sound from keys on initial installation and computer reboot.(by the way the the r key fixed itself so no problem there.)

no, that is not what i am saying

it is there but there is no sound coming out..and when i try to open up window for midi audio setup it stalls and won't load to show me anything- have to force quit. as well, when it does work initially and i look in the library midi devices folder- it is empty. it is almost as if i am using it online and it didn't actually download onto my computer.

Where are you expecting sound to come out of, the "Mac speakers" or are you using headphones/speakers with the audiophile.

This is the latest Logic, correct? In preferences/audio you have two selections one for Output Device, the other for Input Device. How do you have them set?

It's difficult to say where the problem is, your OSX install sounds a bit flaky and/or there is a possible driver compatibility.

Have you opened disk utility and "repaired permissions" on your system lately?

i expect the sound to come out of headphones of audiophile.

yes logic 9

out and in in preferences is m audiophile

yes just did repaired permissions

seems if i restart computer i can see audiophile in untility- no need to reinstall it actually. go into logic and it works no problem. if i close logic however and try to go back in, there is no longer sound and as i said i can't load the midi/audio window in untility....

Nontility...

Ok, that does sound like a driver conflict, after you close and reopen Logic do you still see it selected in Logic's Preferences/Audio setup?

Here's an alternate to try... after it's working and you close Logic unplug the Audiophile, wait 10 or 15 seconds and plug it back in. Open Logic, give it a try.

The only other thing that comes to mind is a possible driver conflict, have you installed any other Audio drivers on this system... at any time?

what key settings should i have in order to get a midi signal from my audiophile(which i have my keyboard connected to)? This is definitely a settings issue not wiring.
