Hello
I signed up for an iOS Developer account today and want to publish my app onto the AppStore. To do this I open Application Loader using XCode, I enter my apple ID and it tells me this, "Unable to find registered user with username <my emaill address>". So I googled 'iTunes Connect' and tried to login using Safari. Same error message.

This is not an answer to your problem but to say I have the same issue. I can't login to iTunes Connect when I try to preview ebooks that I have been working on. I have typed my login details correctly so many times, I re-registered my password, etc but still no joy.
Does anybody know what is going on here?
I have had this issue too.
I am not the lead developer on the account so thought it may be something to do this permissions, however I can't be sure.
Are you both the only developers on the account?
How long ago did you apply for the developer account/sub account? Some times it can take up to a week for your account to activate.
This is REALLY frustrating. I've followed their instructions to the letter and it won't allow me to login. Come on, Apple! Fix this!
If you want Apple to hear you, use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every iTunes Connect page.
The forums are not officially monitored by Apple so "Come on, Apple! Fix this!" is a waste of bits.
Still occurring...I signed up for the IOS developer program a week ago and it works fine, but not iTunes Connect.
