Mac Pro 1.1 with regular Kernel Panic

Hello!

First of all, this is my very first post. So I am really sorry if I miss something out of, like much needed information. Just let me know, and I'll provide it asap!

That being said, I am having some huge problems with my loved Mac Pro 1.1. I use this as my media center, so the fact that it's beeing out of service almost makes me cry sometimes. The machine has worked well for a long time, but suddenly - the last month, it has started getting Kernel Panics.

I have tried reinstalling OS X Lion several times, I have tried a different harddrive, tried "half" of the ram running at once, and then the other half later (and therefore both of the riser cards by them self), I've done Memtest86 without any errors... I've tried looking in the Panic logs, but nothing. Nothing helps. The only thing I have not tested yet is the GPU. I have ordered a new and cheap one on eBay, still waiting on that one.

Here is my most recent Kernel Panic log:

If anyone could help me to point out more things to try, or even tell me where the problem is, I would be ever thankful!

Thank you, again! Anyway... I kind of resolved the problem.

I found and bought a "new" (used) Mac Pro 1.1. This had no issues, and it came with 8Gb of installed memory. For the "fun of it", i moved the riser cards with the 8Gb memory it came with, and installed them in my old Mac Pro - the one with issues.

Guess what? Still Kernel Panic(s). About 5 of them in 1 hour. So... I also took the riser cards from my old Mac Pro, with all of my memory-modules (16Gb in total), and installed them in the new machine. It has been powered on and been used since late monday night without any hickups or errors. I am pretty sure that the error has nothing to do with RAM now.

So... I'm good now. I have a machine that works, and I can finally sleep again! Hehe. I still would like to get the old machine working, though. As mentioned, I ordered a pair of 5150 CPU's (I want to upgrade to x5355/x5365, but I'll try the cheapest way first), and will try with those before I do anything else. If its not a bad CPU, I'm running out of things to try... Next suspect is the Power Supply, and the last spot goes to the Logic Board. Then I'm done. No more parts to replace...

Do you want me too keep the thread updated? Maybe some other people have similar issues at a later point.

It is conceivable that the uncorrectable error problem you are seeing is not caused by the memories themselves, but by a Processor problem. The Xeon Processors contains the memory error checking logic, as well as caches.

If you change out the processors, it is possible you will change out the problem.

EDIT: and if that theory is wrong, and something else is wrong in there, you could have a hellish upgrade indeed.
