My iphone 5 suddenly died.
My iphone 5 suddenly died. It will not turn on when I plug it in. It was working well the night before and nothing happened to it over night. The battery was charged.

This really worked, thank you. On first attempt it appeared not to work but I obviously didn't hold them long enough.
Just happened to me! Thank you for posting the fix! You saved my sanity!
Just to confirm (as I never post on these forums normally, but in this case it is worth it) this just happened to me and the stated fix worked. Click the silent button a few times, then press the power and home buttons at the same time and the phone came back to life. Very odd. Had discussed with Vodafone and was told to return the phone to the store for a replacement, so will ensure I tell Vodafone of this fix for this issue.
Wow. It worked!
Thank you, that works for me.
thanks for the tip, it helped me too.
Thanks for the solution, I paniced abit. Helped alot!
OMG! Thank you so much! You saved my day! I was pushing the Lock and Home buttons at the same time but not for long enough. Thanks again!!
Sept 3.
My iPhone suffered same problem today. Carried out the "Google" manoeuvre and "Hey Presto" it worked.
Thank You
I followed the instructions about toggling the silent button twice, pressing sleep and home buttons simultaneously, standing on my head while drinking a classic coke from a pineapple glass. It worked like a charm. What a POS!
Thanks RJM. The toggle trick worked my my iPhone too.
Thanks, it worked for me.
Yes, The Procedure work. Thanks a ton...
This happened to me also! The answer is to hold the home button and sleep button at the same time for at least 10-20secs (this is important) and the apple logo will magically appear
thanks RJM for your advice.
