iPhone 5 power button lagging on iOS 6.1

Hi,

ever since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1, my power button doesn't respond 100% of the time.Around 6 to 10 times I'm getting an unresponsive lock button. If you lock the device, unlock it, and try to lock it again, it won't react. However, if you wait a few seconds, it does react. I tested it with 3 other iPhone 5 and it's the same, so I blame it to iOS 6.1. It does happen when I'm using apps, but how I described before is a clear way to reproduce it.

Does it happen to you guys too?

i upgraded via itunes on mac, not OTA

Yeah, me too. iTunes restore. Guess it's either waiting for another update or get a replacement and don't do restores.

It's so annoying. It looks like a typical broken button, except it was one moment working and right after upgrading it was not.

Same problem with my iPhone 5. Updated via WLAN without iTunes.

I have had this problem for a few weeks now and i have also updated my IOS to 6.1 and its still the same, maybe even worse. If you click the button on the left hand side it will work but if you click it on the right hand side it doesnt responed. Back to Apple shop for me.

i am also experiencing this problem - it started as soon as i upgraded my iphone 5 32-gig through itunes.

VERY annoying.

i got fed up with my intermittent lock button problem (it seems to work better if i press slightly to the left) and took my iphone 5 into the apple store. they replaced it without any fuss. apparently it is a known hardware problem, but for some reason it becomes more apparent after upgrading to 6.1.

hope you guys manage to sort yours out.

May be someone who saved SHSH blobs could downgrade iOS to 6.0.2 and try if this problem continue

Just last night randomly started happening to me as well. I've been on iOS 6.1 since the public release. I haven't dropped my phone or anything to make the power button behave different. I'm taking it to the Apple Store today to hopefully get it exchanged for a new one.
