iPhone 5 power button lagging on iOS 6.1

if i bring my phone to an apple store will they replace it even if it was purchased through at&t or will i need to bring it to at&t?

at&t is notorious for replacing hardware with used hardware instead of new ones...

The Apple Store replaced my iPhone 5 32GB no problem! I even had a little dent in the corner!

did you need your box and whatnot or do they just swap the old phone for a new phone+box+headphones, etc.

They only swap the phone, no box or anything.

Same, it started doing that 2 days ago. 4 days after I updated to 6.1. I went to the apple store today and they could not generate the probelm there. The guy that helped me cleaned around the button and sent me home. I still have the problem.

So it's an iOS thing? I just noticed the same problem with mine yesterday. Apart from being unresponsive, it also sticks and random too and will illuminate/shut off the screen or vice versa with one press.

Have the same issue since last update. Have to push the button 5-6 times before it responds. Its pretty annoying when you want to take a screenshot becaus its almost impossible now.

when i went to the apple store they understood the problem and replaced it immediately.

It is actually a hardware fault and not the software, apple is fully aware of the issue,an Official Apple store should replace it on the spot. I understand from speaking directly to Apple it is the rubber gromet which is faulty in them and therefore they r replacing them. Unfortunatley for me I have to send mine away for replacement meaning I'll be without my trusty iphone for a good couple of weeks, 😟

This is odd. This thread is quite old now and we have seen IOS6 come and go. I never had a problem with my power button on IOS6, but I am not having it on my iPhone 5 running the new IOS7. The phone is now a year old, so I hope this isn't a hardware issue.
