iOS 6.1 alarm clock bug - when I click save it tries to download a song???

I went to set my alarm, and when I clicked save a pop up appeared which said "Download over cellular? Additional fees may apply when downloading over cellular" and it gave me two options: cancel or download. Does this have anything to do with the fact that my alarm tune is a song from my iPhone music library.

when there is an apple to fix this bug, already published three updates, and there is no result, alone, I can not fix the problem! HELP

Same started for me just yesterday. iPhone 4S , iOS 6.1.3

This is a pain. The popup occurs when using a song stored on the phone as an alarm, with wifi off but 3G data on. It occurs every time the time is changed or the alarm is turned on. The key thing is that it only occurs when wifi is off. Turn wifi on and the popup doesn't occur. BUT this is a bug. There is no reason to download a song that is already stored on the phone. What is going on here? Am running 6.1.3 on a 5.

Worth adding too that I've never used iTunes Match, never use iCloud, and have both turned off. Having these turned off in Settings should disable any such window ocurring anywhere on the phone.

The window pops up precisely after you hit Save for an alarm. The options for the window are 'Cancel' or 'Download'.

In pretty much any other computer scenario the word 'Cancel' in a pop up window cancels the action you were trying to do, which in this instance is 'Save' the alarm. However, it doesn't actually cancel the save of the alarm, it's really a 'Don't Download' for the pop-up. A pop-up that shouldn't be there in the first place.

I have this window is displayed each time you save a new alarm, regardless of whether the WiFi or not 😟

I'm afraid we will never wait when Apple will fix this annoying bug 😠

I was playing around with my phone and found this works. I don't know what else this shuts off but as I said it fixed the overcellular message off. Go to Settings--> General--> Cellular--> and look at cellular data and turn it off.

Also another problem I found, not me, big charges for face time and other over cellular charges. Setting--> iTunes&App stores--> Use Cellular Data and set to off.

@Davidm157 What you're doing with the first action is actually what it says - turning off your cellular data; your 3G data; you're turning off the way the phone transmits data when wifi is off. Doing that, yes, will stop the popup from occurring in the Alarm but by the same token so will not setting the alarm in the first place. Without 3G data you'd loose half the functionality of the phone.

As an odd aside. I've been running since the beginning of the week with wifi switched off (since the 6.1.3 update Wifi seems to be the culprit for mega battery consumption in standby for me. Poor Wifi reception and battery drainage). I just tried the Alarm thing with and without Wifi on and the window is not popping up. Go figure.

However, just now, prior to writing this is reply, I did switch Settings > iTunes&App Store > Use Mobile Data > On and then back off. Maybe it logged something at Apple's end in my iTunes/App Store profile. Thought I'd mention it here for others to try.

I have up to date version of software on my phone yet i have now got the bug :s help! X

I have had this problem and tried all the solutions suggested here (delete and re-download song, change to a different song, etc etc etc).

Finally - on someone's lead - found what the culprit is (at least for me):

Settings>General>Cellular. Scroll down to "Use Cellular Data for:" and switch iTunes to "on." I am unsure what the data usage implications are, but at least I'm not getting the error any longer!

Yes, you've confirmed that the phone Operating System has got the message backwards. Doing what you say should MAKE the pop-up message come up. You are telling the phone to "use Cellular Data for iTunes" which is exactly what the pop-up window is referring to. The pop-up is a warning that you may get data charges if you do this - if you potentially use cellular data everytime your Alarm plays an iTunes song.

So turning "Use Cellular Data for iTunes" to "OFF" should mean you DON'T get the message pop-up. After all, if you've told the phone NOT to use cellular data for iTunes you don't need the warning about incurring charges. Because it's turned off. On the opposite side, if you turn in ON the pop-up warning SHOULD be coming up.

Settings>General>Cellular. Scroll down to "Use Cellular Data for:" and switch iTunes to "on."

Finally, a solution is found, thanks popup disappeared and no longer appears!
