how do you turn off voice control?

I have an iPhone 6s with 10.2 OS. For some reason, after I updated my phone, voice control replaced Siri when I held the home button down. I was not able to change it back despite much searching. Today, I figured it out, though, with the help of some other users on this thread.

Go to settings> general>restrictions. Turn on restrictions and create a passcode for it.

Turn off Siri. Turn Siri back on, voice control is gone, Siri is back.

If you don't want either of them, leave Siri turned off. Pressing the home button hard will not do anything.

This helped! I thought an update (10.2) had turned off Siri "voice". I was getting visual response, not a voice. After checking "Accessibility" the problem was taken care of, and Siri's voice is back. Thank you!

It doesn't work for me! Even set to OFF, both Siri or Voice Control constantly interrupt when I'm just trying to listen to music. I'm not moving or speaking, the phone is not moving or being touched, yet they keep interrupting, asking me what my question is or what do I need help with!! I don't have a question except HOW can I get Siri AND Voice Control BOTH SHUT OFF for good!!!

Then you may have a hardware problem. Back up your phone. Then, restore it back to factory settings and check. If the problem resolves, you have some corrupted information in your back up. If it doesn't you probably have a hardware issue and should make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.

Turning off Siri turns off Voice Control.

Do you have Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver "On"?

I can't imagine where else there could be a voice control. It must be either Siri or Accessibility.

In iPhone 4S, when you switch Siri off, you can use the Voice Control.

It seems it isn't possible to disable voice activation via the home button. If the device is in warranty/AppleCare get it repaired/replaced by Apple. If not, decide if you can afford the repair either by Apple or a 3rd party, or consider using a case that would prevent accidental pressure on the home button.

It doesn't appear that there is anything defective with the OP's phone. He stated he has a "bow" on the home button that catches in his pocket, engaging it. Removing the bow (whatever that is) is the thing to do.

I read it as "curved up" in some fashion. Perhaps I'm wrong.
