Hi Vanli,
I do not know why you decided this is Genieo related, but if you want to uninstall the Genieo app from your computer simply use the uninstall genieo located in your application folder
Genio comes in the form of a "fake" Adobe Flash Player Update. When you click to update Adobe Flash Player it will automatically download Genieo.
Then you must open to install.
I'm sorry anything that comes to my computer, without my permission and under the guise of something else, is by that very definition malware. Not to mention its basically just some type of tracker software disguised as a helpful tool so you can see everywhere you've been on the web on a conveient page. Quite frankly I have no problem remebering where I've been on the web.
"Genieo studies your preferred individual interests at the highest resolution, by following and analyzing your browsing routine. Genieo then continuously explores the internet for specific information items which are mostly related to your interests, and presents them on your personal Homepage".
Find it real hard to think of anything more useless......
Yeah, the "fake" Adobe Flash Player Update is a real kicker. If Genieo is doing this, then they are being deceptive. I wouldn't trust them.
Hi Vanli,
I came across Genieo whilst trying to access either "project free tv" or "free-tv-video-online-me". One directed me to a download device that required my credit card details to detemine that I was resident in a country that was "entitled to receive the free movie" (whilst assuring me that it would never take money from the account) and the other simply initiated Genieo which took some 10 minutes to download.
I cannot get rid of Genieo!!! I have uninstall the program and re started my computer, my home page is google and still every time I open a second tab Genieo appears... Help!
is not as easy right? because I already did and still have it on my browser even though my home page is google.
If Genieo does not exist in your application folder, please open your browser settings and change your home page and search provider to something else.
Save and close your browser.
Restart your browser and verify the changes took place.
Now open your settings and change to the one you like.
Please let me know if this worked.
If Genieo does exist in your appliaction folder,
Simply close Genieo and remove it to the trash.
Then flowo instructions above

Nice grammar "Genieo support" - You and your company are a bunch of scamming ***holes.
hi i also click this geneio thing on my mac and when i tried to remove it it says cannot be deleted. and when i open my finder, it is on my devices what can i don to remove this, cause definetly not a site to trust.
Hi,
Please open your finder and run the "Genieo uninstaller".
Removing Genieo to the trash is not the same as uninstalling Genieo and in any case can be done only when Genieo is closed.

i did went to my finders and i cannot see it there, does this means that i actually havent insatalled it completely? cause i saw it on my download it was there before and what i did is erased it. so now im not sure if its actully still on my computer or not.
how can i make sure its not installed or installed?
also its not on my application either. as i tried to read the above thread
Do not use the uninstaller. It is now known to leave actively-running components behind.
You will need to remove all the components manually. For instructions, see the Genieo removal section of my Adware Removal Guide.
