iCloud calendar events disappearing

I have iCal on my Mac at home, synced to my iPhone, and then I use iCloud at work (from a PC). Today at work, I was looking at my iCloud calendar and several events disappeared from right in front of my eyes. However, they are still on my phone! (I can't yet check if they're on my Mac at home.) What is going on here?

I suspect that it has something to do with weekly repeating events - all the events which disappeared were in that category - but how do I get them back? My iPhone is set to sync 'all events' already.

My husband's iPad just had a similar issue. Some, though not all, events had vanished from the calendar, though they were still there in the Calendar app on his iPhone, and on my phone and MacBook. A few had stuck around, mostly "repeating" events, but there were huge numbers of events just gone. Some originating from my calendars, some from his (we each have a Home and a Work calendar in iCloud, and we share these with each other), some that had recently been edited, others with no changes since they had been posted. No obvious smoking gun.

Anyhow, Apple Support had me sign in to his iCloud account on my MacBook to confirm that all the events were there, which they were, and having established that he had me go to Settings > iCloud > and toggle off the Calendars switch and then turn it back on. The first time I did this, I selected the option to "keep" the events that remained on the iPad, but that resulted in all of those being duplicated, so I repeated the procedure, choosing the option to Delete everything upon turning off Calendars (big breath before I did that!), and then turned it back on, re-opened the Calendar, and watched all the events repopulate. Hooray! Happy dance!

Thank you for sharing this method. My calendar events were also disappearing on my iPad. I did find that somehow the Calendar settings had reverted to Sync events only 2 weeks back, but seeing it to All Events didn't bring them back. So I tried this. And now all of my events are back on the iPad Calendar, going back 13 years, just as they are on my Macbook. I will try this on my iPhone next but want to wait until it's fully charged and plugged in. All of my devices seem to sync better to icloud when connected to a power source. So, happy dance indeed!

This has been very frustrating for many of us! I followed many of you and your advice (for my iPhone 5S) to backup in iCloud, then go to Calendar, turn off, delete Calendar, wait a few minutes and turn it back on, but nothing happened. So I decided to follow the same steps and after I turned Calendar off, I turned my phone off and did a hard restart. Then after I turned Calendar back on, all of my appointments were back ON. YAY! So thank you everyone for your advice, and if turning Calendar off, then on, doesn't work for you, try turning Calendar off, turn your phone off and hard restarting it (on button and home at same time) and then turn Calendar back on. Good luck!
