Issue isnt resolved.

This is the 1st digital copy I cant download.

Funny thing is I HAD the 5002 code, but I can download apps & updates with no issue.

TODAY iTunes tells me that the iTunes store is unavaiable, yet I just downloaded a new app from the iTunes store.

The apple rep I was speaking with, hasnt responded since yesterday afternoon......

Hello Don,

Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. My name is Alex and I will be addressing your concerns today.

I understand that you receiving the error code, "Error 5002" when attempting to redeem your digital copy code. I can certainly appreciate wanting to redeem this code to gain access to the digital copy of "Peter Pan", and I would be more than happy to assist.

This error was caused by a temporary issue with the iTunes Store that should be resolved now. Please check the iTunes Store again. All features should be working well.

If you received this error while downloading a large purchase order, please understand that the cause of the error may be a combination of the size of the order you are downloading and the speed of your connection. Please try another connection that is faster than your current connection. If this is not possible, please continue to attempt to download your purchase. This may take several attempts.

Don, another possibility is that this error is the result of an issue with verifying your billing information. If you are still experiencing difficulty, I kindly ask that you try the below steps before trying to redeem the code again:

1) Quit iTunes.

2) Open iTunes.

3) Test the issue.

4) If it persists, sign in to store.apple.com using your iTunes account

5) Click on Change account information

6) Modify or remove your credit card information.

7) Click Continue.

8) Test the issue.

Don, if you have any questions or concerns regarding this issue; please don't hesitate to reply. If you reply directly to this email, your response will come straight to me.

Thank you for contacting iTunes Store Customer Support. I hope that you continue to enjoy the iTunes Store.

Sincerely,

Alex

Alex - thanks for the prompt reply.

I tried restarting iTuines & also restarting my computer - nothing worked.

I also tried removing my CC info - nothing.

Finny thing is that even when the store was 'down', I still downloaded apps.

I also just downloaded the Peter Pan storybook app - but the digital copy wont work.

I need further asisstance, please advise.

I am sorry to hear that the issue still persists. I can certainly appreciate how eager you are to have access that digital copy of the movie, and I will be more than happy to continue working with you. I also appreciate the steps you have taken.

I kindly ask that you provide me with a screenshot of what you are seeing when you try to redeem the code. This information will allow me to see exactly what you are seeing so that I can better assist. I have provided the steps on how to take a screenshot below, incase you need it:

To take a screen shot in Windows, follow these steps:

1) Press the PrtScn button on your keyboard (it is located in the upper-right corner next to the ScrLk key). This will take the screen shot and put it in your clipboard.

2) From the Start menu, click All Programs, then Accessories, then Paint.

3) From the Edit menu, choose Paste.

4) From the File menu, choose Save.

5) Click the Save as Type drop-down menu and choose JPEG from the list.

6) Click the Desktop icon on the left to go to the Desktop in the file browser.

7) Enter a file name and press Enter to save the screen shot to your Desktop.

I just spent the better part of an hour and a half on the phone with Apple Support only to find out that the iTunes support staff are working on this known problem with the iTunes server. Not all digital copies are unable to transfer, but Peter Pan is definitely one of the ones they're having issues with. I was told to wait 48 hours and try again. If I'm still having issues I'm supposed to call back. Not very helpful, but at least we know its an issue on their end.
