Apple TV not updating podcasts.

Hi,

I use my Apple TV every day to watch different podcasts, but since a few days the podcasts in my Apple TV are not updating. I have restarted my iTunes on my computer and restarted my Apple TV, but that is not working. Any advice on what to do next?

Best,

Marco.

@paulmac...you are on an apple tv discussion site..and there is quite a bit of money flowing thru my itunes account...granted podcasts are free but ??...so put a minimal charge there...obviously the demand is there...but if this is a marketing tactic it has to rank up there with "new coke"... nothing like creating a market from a non-existent base and then screwing them over?? as opposed to asking that you pay something...you make no sense from a sales/marketing standpoint!...ie.you have created the customer/demand and now rather than ask for money you **** them off?..huh?

We have 3 Apple TVs, all updated to their latest version possible, and 9 Macs, all updated to their latest versions, on our LAN. Via out Apple TVs and iTunes via the Macs, numerous daily video podcasts have stopped updating, the most recent update being 2013-May-07 or 06. These include such entries as NBC Nightly News ... and I know the material is being produced because I can watch it via Safari on my iPhone (and AirPlay it to the Apple TV).

Clearly something has gone wonky, here. It'll be nicer when it's fixed.

I got an update on 5/13 /13 that updated podcasts through May 7th. This isn't acceptable. i am going to start streaming directly from providers and by pass ATV if they can't get thier act together. Many of us are migrating off cable to podcasts, and I am not interested in buying content from Itunes store Just won't do it. I don't have cable, and I certainly am not going to buy an internet version of a cable provider. I have 10,000 $ worth of apple products and software, and I don't expect to pay for view for everything.

Something new today that may help someone shed some light on this:

Yesterday (May 13) I checked my podcasts and they still had not updated. For some reason (desperation?) I tried to play the NBC Nightly News podcast for May 7th (the most recent one listed). But when the podcast played, it was actually the broadcast for May 13th. This evening, May 14th, I had "today's" podcast.

CBS News' podcasts are also now there through yesterday, the 13th (as of about 7pm PST), however the sequence of episodes is out of order for some reason (not a problem).

The CBC National (Mobile edition) is also up to date.

I'm glad it's resolved, but Apple's silence on the matter is deafening... even if they put out the word that "there's nothing you can do and you just have to wait for it to fix itself" it would at least show that they're aware of the issue. Disturbing.

I've got updates on NBC Nightly News, CBS news (although its out of order), TEDTalks, etc. No update on Anderson Cooper 360. Come on guys this is not a plot to have u pay for content. It's simply a bug. I do agree that Apple could do a way better job supporting the AppleTV. This podcast update bug seems to be a reoccurring issue. Has anyone actually contacted support about it? Or are we all just complaining on this forum? I submitted a feedback report, but I'm not sure anyone in support actually got it.
