iphone 5 calls failed

i have almost same problem i cant send a messages for 4 days and from morrning i can even call i dont know what to do i call in vodaphone operator and thay sad card and signal is okey **** know what happend enyone has idea how to help me?

Really thanks ** far your answer help me and confirm my doubts about my carrier now Im sure the carriers all of them are piece of sh... They restrict your calls in order to force you to switch from apple to other like samsung saying its a harware problem from apple ans its not just i did what you suggest and the legend appear in on my screen said call restrictions disabled .......... I was muted surprised and happy I'm start doing calls right away thank you so much

Thank you Baljeet789. this solved my problem although not 100% coz if restart phone problem still there. But all in all thanks coz at least now i can make calls. Hope this problem will be solved by iOS 8

I tried

Settings -> General -> Date & Time -> Set Automatically Turn it OFF

I set the Time Zone manually to the local time zone and set the time back to when I bout the phone in November 2012. After that I just changed the time to the current time.

After that I found out the Location Privacy Setting for updating the time zone was disabled in the

Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> Setting Time Zone

We've had the same problem off and on for years (on both phones). The only thing I found to fix it is go to : SETTINGS --> GENERAL -->DATE & TIME-->. SET AUTOMATICALLY. Slide the toggle and then slide it back again; ours defaults to Chicago, even though we're in FL --but it works every time . Hope this helps.

I've been trying to make a call for the last 3 hours and no luck. The response was "Call failed"

So, I've been reading all the post here, and doing all the things you say, but when I got to this one, I realized my phone was on "automatically". And the city is Cupertino, because I am in California, and it is grey. You cannot set the time manually, because I am in the same time zone as Cupertino. By the time I finally could make the call was 1:00AM, the person was already sleeping, and the voicemail came on. So, your tip probably could not work for me, since I had my phone in that mode.

When I dial a number on several occasions, the call will fail. And when I do

get a connection the party that I reach can’t hear me or the conversation tends to “break-up”. What do I have to do to correct the problem.

I noticed that this problem started shortly after my last phone update.

Even I have facing same probelm. I am planing to give up iPhone 5 and look towards Android or Windows 8.

I found that this problem solved today. go to setting---->phone---->show my caller id on. and try call again. it's fix my phone 😁

I had this problem from the day I got the Iphone5 .. Call fails after dialing usually second or third attempt it works. Happens about every other call.. So annnoying. I worked through ATT and many things tried (including SIM card, Reset Phone, Send me new codes crom space etc) and nothing fixed it. Finally I took the time to go to the Apple store and they swapped it out and the the issue is fixed .. the new phone no call fails since the swap about 72hrs. Only wish I did this sooner.

Yes I agree I think maybe android or w8 might be a better option. This always happens and I've been trying to make a phone call for the past half hour. It wasn't this bad before the latest update!

What you need to do is

1. turn off 3G

2. Turn airplane mode and wait for some time

3. Then turn off airplane mode

(It worked for me)

Update: problem solved. Apple is not to blame this time. My carrier blocked my IMEI and gave me no reason at all.
