Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
since taking my macbook air to the apple store to have the data transfered onto my external hard drive. have noticed that all of the icons are missing. EXAMPLE:when i write an email, the little boxes that should say, 'send' 'delete' etc, these are now EMPTY.
How can i get them back?

YAY!!! 😀 I'm so glad everything is good to go now! Did you end up deleting and then setting you User Account back up? Just curious....

Woo Hoo! I did what you said and re set the user account. I have all my icons on that one, which is brilliant now i dont have to guess.
I still have probs with this discussion page and trying ot keep images on here when i 'add reply'. But i an handle that. The most important problem has been solved 'by you' thank you very much :-)
That's great, Tazer!!! So, if you are able to get the whole camera part to work using the Shift+Command+4+Spacebar, then click, then it should put it on your desktop, and you should be able to find the actual image file in your Finder under Desktop....
So, you click on the camera in the Reply box, and then double click on the image in the Finder, then click on the Insert Image, and you should be good to go:

I DID IT!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! Thanks a million :-) The prob i had was the 'save image' was grey in colour and wouldnt allow me to click onto it so it woldnt download so i had to use the cut and paste facility, which also didnt work as it wouldnt save.
There must have been lots of things wrong with my last log in as there were querky things happening and not allowing me to do certain things! You my dear, have perservered with me and saw it through to the end! I am a happy lady now having conquered it finally, thanks to your help. Take care :-)
