Idiots run the company! I mean what if you're travelling or working abroad? You have no options. How ridiculous. What do the shareholders think of this idiocy? HELLO Apple, do you not want my money? Horrible service!
Everyone who has replied in this thread is a user and not an Apple employee.
All we can do is state the Apple policies, not change them...but do keep in mind that for internationsl internet sales, Apple is juggling issues including international copyright that may impact sale of music and books, etc.
Makes a degree of sense, but I had a problem with my account and support told me to buy an iTunes card here in Japan and that it would rectify the problem. That was stupid, obviously it was just a waste of money. Also, I bought the mini here in Japan so it should work.
Apparently long term customers offering to help one another out by exchanging non usable itunes cards to their locality is against terms and condidtions of this forum. My post was deleted. What a joke.
Anything that isn't a technical support question or answer is against the terms of the forum. Those terms are clearly stated in the agreement we all accepted when we signed on here. There are many other sites where people can offer to exchange iTunes cards or otherwise engage in aftermarket commerce or non-technical discussions.
"is against the terms of the forum", isn't that what I just said? But thanks for the lecture.
You're welcome. Hope it helps.
I'm in the U.S. and I want to buy music from the Japanese store, can I do that without using an iTunes card from Japan?
You can only buy music from the iTunes store in another country if you have an account in that country's iTunes store, that means, you must have a valid credit card issued in that country and a physical address in that country. Otherwise you cannot purchase from that country's store...this involves a number of international copyright laws governing transfer of material.
He can't even then. A user must, per the terms of use of the iTunes Store, be physically present in the country whose iTunes Store he/she wishes to use. So even if Alejandro had an address and credit card for Japan, he still couldn't use the Japanese iTunes Store unless he went to Japan.
Regards.
You're right, forgot to put that "little caveate" in there.
Just use vpn japan or another country (tunnelbear can do that)
You need to change your country and billing information. Change your country to Japan and change any address you have. Also, if you have a credit card with an address other than Japan, delete the card on your information page and click NONE for payment information. I hope it works. I had to do that. I lived in the US and moved to another country and had to delete the original US information to access the other country's storefront. I hope it works for you!
What are you finding misleading about it ? The 'each store' part refers to the iTunes Store, App Store and iBooks Store ; on a Mac they are separate logins, if you redeem a gift card onto an account that redeemed amount will be available in all three of those stores (as long as you logged into each of those stores with the account that you redeemed that card onto).
That is honestly the stupidest thing I have ever heard. We're still giving our money to apple. I just wasted 300 pesos on this gift card and now I can't even use it?
