I sent an itunes gift card to someone about an hour ago, via email. They still dont have it. How long does it take to arrive?

I know this is an old post but there is something wrong with Apple email gift cards... and no - they do not go to junk mail. They take hours to be sent - it never fails. You send one and you have to wait and wait. The recipient gets the email 4-6 hours later. Really? and the recipient's email is @me.com address. This is most frustrating!

I can't redeem my giftcard because I can't find the code and I need to buy textbooks!!!

Hi, the same just happened to me, I purchased a gift card online at the Apple store, and it has been over an hour and not received. I called Apple support, and they said a gift card is sent to an email address within a 24 hour window.

You can check on the status of your gift card at apple.com/orderstatus, log in with your Apple ID or your Order Number and email. Then you can see your order status, billing, delivery and shipment information.

Hi writing to update, the gift card was received just now, so that's about 1 1/2 hours after I ordered it.

it usually takes 4 hours for a gift card to go through. Keep that in mind for future.

I ordered 2 relatives Apple itunes gift cards last night. Sure enough "Apple Online Store" in CA charged my account. They have my money, but the order is still in Processing mode. It is now 6 hours later. And the special occasion has now passed, with the 2 kids having received nothing via email. I can not even retrieve a code to send them for redemltion purposes. They were promised gift cards, got all excited the whole evening, waiting for the email to arrive. And at bedtime, still nothing. That is just wrong. And it is really crappy customer servive to boot. In the future I will buy physical gift cards in person. That way I can take pictures, email or text the kids the codes. I will never order online again. Never use itunes store to buy for anyone's birthday or special occasion, as you will be left looking like a fool, and somebody will be let down.
