Audio Units Manager rescans after every startup

After experience ZERO problems on my Macbook Pro with Mountain Lion, I recently also upgraded my Mac Pro to Mountain Lion.

However on my Mac Pro - my Audio Units Manager rescans my plugins every time I open Logic (after a restart)

(This is NOT an issue on my laptop - only the desktop mac)

I think I "understand" the problem - my user cache is not showing the file: "com.apple.audiounits.cache"

The file isn't being created (or saved obviously)

(this file does exist on my laptop)

Unfortunately I have no idea how to correct this problem

Any ideas?

Just checked and yes Onyx is installed although I rarely use it. I think from memory the first and only time I used it, it DID cause some complications in all sorts of areas on my system. I presume it doesn't hurt to leave it sat in my applications though, just in case I need it in the future. I don't think it carries out any cleaning tasks unless instruct it to do so.... please tell me if it is otherwise! Thx.

I've been having this problem for months. Seems the audiounits cache file gets deleted any time I start up.

My workaround is to keep a saved cache file on my desktop copy over to the caches folder before starting Logic each time. A pain but it's better than waiting for 100s of audiounits to scan.

I just started having the same problem today. Everything's been fine up to now. In fact, this morning it was working fine. I can't imagine how that could be. arg.

I just noticed its all audio unit plugins. Wonder if that could be a clue. I also tried copying the cache back over before loading Logic but that didn't work for me.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS NOW - UGH

I have tried everything I know - and nothing works... I am running 10.8.4

This is so annoying please anyone help.....
