Split screen

Thank you, Andrew, for actually giving a solution instead of just complaining about Mac like all the other posters.

It's obvious OP has no business buying a mac just like all the other people complaining. It's not for people unwilling to learn new things. If all you wanna do is check your email and watch youtube, get a dell. It's ridiculous apple still even sells you computers with you buying them and taking them back so often.

I mean, you have been using windows for years, of course there is a learning curve and of course it's not gonna have the same features... If you want windows use windows! ffs

I use Windows, Linux with many window managers, and Mac OS X, and I've been using them a long time. Mac OS X is the ONLY one that lacks this feature right now. You might think this is silly, but there are many workflows, especially involving text editing like software development where any switch from keyboard to mouse adds uncomfortable strain to the neck. Any vim or emacs user should be able to relate. If you mostly just browse or use graphical tools then of course this would seem silly, but the are people with completely different workflows then you. I mean really how un-empathic are you?

If you guys are looking for a free alternative for Window management look up an APP called Spectacle, I have been using it for a while and LOVE it!

BetterSnap tool on the Mac App Store is like the feature on windows but it is on Steroids! I have been using it for a couple of months and love it and had all my friends and family get it. It's a $1.99 but well worth it. You can split your screen in so many ways, its incredible. You can also assign hotkeys. I have Option right and left arrows for the vertical split and option up and down arrows for horizontal split. You can also do corners, thirds and so many more. It slices, dices and chops. Get yours today. lol

OSX El Captain offers the feature of split screen, like windows ten. El Captain's split screen tool is native to the system, so it can be an even better solution than all others.

You can use OSX El Captain. Just hold the green "Fullscreen" Button and drag to a side. Then, do the same to the other window. You then have a split-screen.
