My bad experience with TNT goes on...
This is the short version of my experience with TNT:
1. Purchased a macbook pro a few weeks after release. 5-6 days later macbook was 'Out for delivery'. I stayed off work to collect it and sign for it. It never came. TNT were trying to deliver it to a different address 30 miles away.
TNT continued to try and deliver it to this address THREE times! Despite me calling them each time to rectify the problem! 'Driver unable to deliver because of time constraints' On the 4th day they were supposed to deliver it to my work address, but instead, it arrived at my home address. It was lucky that someone else was in to sign for it.
2. I had to return my macbook pro. TNT came and collected it. But a day later I got another call from TNT saying they are coming to pick up my macbook pro. I told them it had already been collected. They apologised and realised they had already picked it up.
Nevertheless the next day...sure enough, a TNT guy shows up asking to collect my macbook pro. I told him that TNT had already picked it up and that I even told them this when they called me.
3. My new replacement macbook pro is 'Out For Delivery'. But once again it doesnt show up - I am tired of taking the time to stay in and sign for it. I call them and they say it will be re-delivered tomorrow. So I stay in to sign for it, but again it doesnt arrive. I get the excuse 'Driver unable to deliver because of time constraints'. This time they deliver it on the third attempt.
4. Two weeks later I ordered a 13" MacBook from Apple. About 6 days after I ordered it, TNT's online tracking system says it is 'Out For Delivery'.
So I wait in to sign for it. But again, it doesnt come. I call TNT and they say it will be delivered on Tuesday the 30th.
However, later when I tracked the item online at tnt.co.uk and the item status reads: 'Delivered - Signed for by 'my surname' at 12.00 in Stansted. I called TNT and told them that I have NOT signed for it and I have NOT been to Stansted! They told me it must be a data input error and not to worry. Because to sign for the item in stanstead required proof of I.D. so it must be a system error.
I think that the TNT drivers just think to themseleves "I'm not driving all the way there it will take too long...i have loads of other deliveries to do..etc etc...he can wait...etc" .
I can understand it a little. Since I live in a quite remote part of Norfolk. But the amount of problems I have had is a bit ridiculous. The fact that I need access to a computer as part of my profession adds to the pain. It has affected my work.
As a result, I have to seriously consider wheter ordering from Apple is a good idea in the future. I cant afford to be messed around like this. Apple are a superb company but their partnership with TNT is not such a good thing in my experience.
