How do I delete all emails at once in the ipad inbox
iPad 2
Is Apple losing its mojo? I just want to delete the emails on the ipad/iphone, not necessarily at Gmail. None of these methods work, and Apple better get back to its roots. The previous versions of ios was very manageable regarding emails. Now this disaster, that precludes me putting in more music or whatever into the device.

Your solution worked perfectly. Juat allow a little time, just like you said. Thanks so much for sharing that solution
Crashed each time...
This is very helpful. I have additional questions. Do you know if the messages have to be deleted completely to be removed from using iPhone memory? Or can they simply be moved to a personal folder to free up iPhone memory?
Also, must I move/delete all or none of the messages, or is there a way to move all before a certain date?
Thanks.
The delete feature mentioned by Destef_12 was removed on the last OS upgrade. We're all pretty much screwed now and have to delete each individually. I wish I hadn't upgraded.
Played with the ipad some more. Destef_12's suggestion still works with the upgraded OS, but you must check the very first email for it to work. Before the upgrade you could have picked any email in the list and the move option worked.
Thanks all. That was helpful. I ended up trying it and I think managed to move all of my Gmail mail into a personal folder. I saw an HTML button on the bottom that said "Move All." But then I kept receiving an error message that Gmail wasn't working because something was incorrect in my settings like my password (I checked & re-checked that I had everything right).
Finally, I just deleted my whole Gmail account & set it up again. I backed up my iPhone 1st but fortunately didn't need that.
It was the best fix in the end because after all the hours of individual email deleting, email deleting & moving around on my PC Gmail, & this crazy iPhone technique, my Gmail & all it's data (calendar mainly) seems in tact & I managed to reduce my email memory to around 700mb from 1.2gb.
This is awesome. On current OS I selected first message in Edit>>held down Move while deselecting message>>Move All became an option-selected>>Trash. Did not have to individually select messages. Perfect.
Very nice Unijak. Before doing this is wouldn't work for me but after marking them all as unread they deleted. Thanks.
Kudos to you! This works and I don't hate my ipad any more 🙂
You're welcome. Glad it worked!
I tried Destef_12's method but it won't allow me to deselect the first message, so nothing happens.
Be sure you follow the directions to the letter, and be sure you're iOS is up-to-date.
have a 4s. Does not work.
I have an iPad air, v7.0.3, and this doesn't work for me. When I hold the Move button it won't uncheck the first email; when I remove my fingers it goes to the move options.
