The problem still could be the Wifi router. I suggest you unplug it for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's Network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.
If that does not help, try resetting (rebooting) the iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
If any of the above solutions work, please post back what solved your problem. It will help others with the same problem.
This has happened to me too (and many from what I can tell).
I bought mine in November and worked great until recently. Like you, I noticed issues such as pages not loading, intermittent disconnects. Then one morning, my iPad was off the network and would not join.
Got the error "Unable to join the network...."
It work fine the night before.
I currently have an Apply TV, Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and a few Android devices all connecting to my wifi network without issue. My iPad mini however can only connect when I'm a few feet away.
I did a factory reset and still no connection unless I'm very close to the wifi router. When you google it, there are quite a few people experiencing this issue. I highly doubt it's a problem with my network given I have 3 other Apply products and a few Android devices connecting just fine.
And yes, I've cycled my router and this did not resolve the issue.
What complicates matters is I am able to connect my iPad mini to my local library open wifi. I also have mobile hotspots I use that work fine (due to the close proximity.)
If my other devices had network issues, I would agree with some that suggest a router issue. However, since it's only my iPad mini that's having problems, it seems clear to me the iPad mini is the issue.
I hope I don't have the first "CrApple" product.
Facing exactly the same issue since december. Youtube videos suddenly stops, cannot browse internet etc, though it says wifi is connected. I have to switch off wifi and switch it back on several times to get it working.
Got up to date version of iOS. Complained Apple store and they replaced it for me a month back. But this new one also got same issue,
Thats not the problem with my router, as other devices works just fine. Such a stupid product with such a crap problem which no one cares to fix.
Just an update to my issue. I finally brought my ipad mini to the apple store a week ago. Went through the whole thing of explaining the issue and all the troubleshooting steps taken. I made sure I tried to connect to the mall's wifi. I couldn't. I was however able to connect to the apple's wifi. I explained it was B.S. that my iPad mini connects to some wifi while doesn't connect to others. I spent a pretty penny on it and should not have to compromise. I showed the genius that I was even able to connect to the mall's wifi with my andriod phone. He promptly replaced my ipad mini and before leaving the store, I checked and was able to connect to the mall's wifi. There you go. It was the ipad mini.
Went to an Apple store today and a "genius" took my iPad mini back behind closed doors for some analysis. Came back and said everything was ok, must be my wireless router. I didn't accept this because 5 other Apple laptops (some up to 10 years old) work just fine on my home wireless network as well as my iPod touch. Also told him my iPad wouldn't disconnect if I sat right next to the wireless router, but when 30' away it would disconnect even though my Toshiba laptop says I have an excellent signal at that location.
Bottom line, Apple apparently has a problem that they are not willing to acknowledge, fix, or stand behind. Pathetic. While Texas Mac Man is kind enough to offer 21 suggestions for a fix, I want a fix from Apple, not a bunch of rationalizations.
If they're not willing to stand behind their product, they should take it back. I heard no offers like that today. I feel like I'm stuck with junk.

I too was going mad with my mini and poor wifi connectivity around home. Had tried network boosters and no help. But then I got a cheap AirPort Extreme and created a new 5ghz network at home. The mini seems to love the 5ghz spectrum. A lot of routers no provide the ability to crea oth a 2.4 and a5ghz option. Have now long range high peed wifi oonnctivity
Yes, I am having the same problem. It works fine at home with my Airport Extreme but will not hook up consistently anywhere in my classroom even though I have a PC desktop, two apple laptops (one new and one old) and an old iPad that do hook up just fine anywhere in the room. Being the scientist that I am, that tells me that it's the iPad that has the issue, not the router or the network.
This describes my problem also, iPad mini launch day, seemed to loose wifi network, the wifi icon shows full strength and when you go to wifi settings you can see a valid IP address, iPad complains no Internet connection. Apple always seen to blame router, but in my house we have iPad mini, 2x iPad 2nd gen, 2x iPhone 5, 2x iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, Apple TV, dell and hp laptops etc etc the only device that suffers this problem is the iPad mini. I noticed the problem started after the last update, Apple is always in denial about any problems, please pull your socks up!
By the way, I have been on ALL of these boards, and Texas Mac Man has posted the same exact fixes on every single board (lots of them). NONE of them worked for me.
I had the same exact problem for months, and tried every SINGLE fix from changing the brightness on the iPad (yes, that was a proposed fix) to re-setting my router to different channels, updating firmware, security settings, and re-naming my network, to re-setting, and re-storing my iPad mini. It was very frustrating, and I was getting ready to return it. All of my other Apple devices, along with our PCs, Macs, and Blackberry products connect with no problem at all. The mini worked in my living room where the router was located, but no where else in the house. I am using a Time Capsule with the built in Airport for a router. I went and purchased an Airport Express for $99, and am using it to boost reception. I have it located in my bedroom which is where I used the mini most of the time. VOILA! Now I have perfect reception to the mini. Yes, it should work without the Express, but I didn't want to return it as it works everywhere else outside of the house. As an aside, the Airport Express has also improved reception to my children's devices in their bedrooms. As far as I am concerned, it is a wi-fi range problem with the mini.
I read on here that AirPort Extreme seemed to fix the problem as it works on 5Ghz. Over here in the UK, BT have brought out their Home Hub 4 which I have managed to borrow a trial version over the last weekend and it works on dual frequency like the airport extreme and I found it fixed this issue. I gave it a thorough test by streaming video via safari as in particular puffin browser with flash streams. I also downloaded content on an app that was being a particular pain and my connection didn't fail once.

For example; my home set up is the new Airport Extreme, providing both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. Running off this we have 4 iPads, 3 iPhones, 1 Mac, 1 Apple TV and sometimes the Xbox or Wii…
From the first day I used the Mini, I have noticed significantly less wifi performance. It simply does not receive the same signal that any of our other devices do. I have compared them back to back; there is a distinct difference in performance between the iPad Mini and any of the other devices.
Other than purchasing the Mini, nothing else has changed in the home environment that might adversely affect the reception.
Open to any suggestions people might have; otherwise, it’s a return to Apple.
I bought my iPad mini (wifi only) three weeks and am having the same issue. I can stand right next to my friend and get intermittent wifi reception while his nexus tablet gets full bars. Known iPad Mini issue. Luckily I have Geek Squad protection and can have it replaced and keep doing so until Apple decides to do something about it. Extremely frustrating. Thought I jump on this band wagon in hopes of Apple having to do something sooner than later do to the volume of complaints.
