How to install Windows 8 on Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display?

Hi,

I'm new to Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display. I'm a non-tech guy. Well, I'm familiar with Windows PCs but not familiar with Macbook Pros and OS X.

Please if you people can step me step by step that how to Install Windows 8 on Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display 15 inch.

Because recently, Apple released OS X Update 10.8.3 which includes support for Windows 8 in Boot Camp.

I will be very thankful. Please help!

Okay, I'm at Windows Setup.

What to Select in these:

1. Language to Install

2. Time and Currency Format

3. Keyboard or input Method

(Note: I'm at Windows 8 Setup)

Normally, you don't have to modify any of those settings because they are already set up for your Mac (the ones that meet with your country). Since here, it's so important that you follow the steps provided by Apple > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf

If you do something wrong, you may lose everything from your computer. Be very careful

I'm getting an error: We couldn't create new partition or locate an existing one. For more information, see the setup log files.

The first thing you should try is to restart the Mac and start the installation again. Anyway, that error is strange, because Windows can't detect the hard disk

Is it important to remove any other External HDD to remove while installing Windows 8 on Mac?

Because WD HDD and HP Flash Drive (BootCamp) was attached.

You can remove the WD hard disk because you don't need it. I recommend you to do that with the MacBook turned off. Then, start the Windows installation

I had a blog in the past but I don't have enough time to post now. Apart from that, I haven't got a MacBook Pro, but a 2009 21'5-inch iMac

Hi akshay, by the above discussion, I think you have successfully installed windows 8 on your mac. Just wanted to know, how safe it is to run windows 8 on a mac and does it hang at times or is it very stable. Or if you had any issues so far.

Can you please direct me to where you found a full version of Windows 8 from the Microsoft on-line store? As I understand, Windows 8 is only an upgrade and there are no full versions available. Did you have Windows 7 or some other version on the drive to which you downloaded the new version?

Also, how is 8 running on the MBP?
