Pancenter,
In case you missed this bit by the OP...
Ok so i'm in the Midi window of the Audio/Midi set up app and it has three things in in. "IAC Driver", "Network" and "USB2.0-MIDI" which I presume is what i'm looking for, where do I go from here?
...so it appears the USB Midi is being recognized by OS X... just no data is arriving at Logic it seems..
As luch would have it I checked the link he posted and realized I had one of those laying around, putchased on ebay for a few dollars I think. It's either not compatible with recent hardware or has a manufacturing defect.
It does seem to work ok.
Hello again, so I have an MPC 1000 which has midi in and out, I connected it and still nothing, no green light or anything detected in Logic. And to confirm the the IN plug is plugged in to the MIDI out port and I have also tried it the other way round in case the cables were labelled wrong.
Then it does sound like you either have a faulty cable (most likely I think) or it's not fully compatible with recent OS's...(as per some of the comments on Amazon)
Sorry to hear this.. Such a pain... but really cheap cables/connectors can be quite unreliable unfortunately..
Yeah I think you're probably right, never mind
