Settings/Privacy/Localization/Disable Passbook is the correct pattern to test.

To solve battery drain issues:

It took me a week to figure this out.

AnD I've just figured it out right now.

You're gonna have to start your iphone as new, disable data AnD 3G. Do not backup, do not get icloud.

Download all of your data (apps) from wi fi alone (do NOT enable data AnD roaming!!).

Then when you're done getting all of your apps back, enable data.

Leave it on stand by for a few minutes.

Enable 3G.

Don't you ever download an app with data and 3G enabled, it will mess up data transfer somehow.

Update via OTA all manufacturers "crooked" and apple is no exception. Always reliable been updated through the wire, but in 6.1.3 and Apple violates this law 🙂 Doing reset to the Factory default settings. Trying to keep up with the times, but obtained through A.s.s.

I agree that the post was a bit out of line, but the problem is NOT with the latest update, unless by "latest update" you mean every update that has ever come out. If it was a problem with the latest update everyone would have it, which is clearly not the case. Every one of the people in the threads listed below were convinced that the problem was with the "latest update", whether than update was this month or 5 years ago.

The evidence points to the problem being in the PROCESS of updating, not what you update to.

This coincides with iOS 3.x I now have a 4S. 400, 1000, 1,000,000 cycles or not a phone doesn't lose up to 50% of its ability to hold a charge overnight. I have followed any and all tips/instructions available in this thread up to and including factory reset/restore. Restoring to 6.1.3 results in the same battery life. Horrible.

In my experience I cannot call this a user issue. This has to be software related, and also most likely related to specific hardware in specific phones in date and place of manufacture. As some have said it may be a specific app that we recently updated but restoring the phone and reinstalling everything we use simply recreates the problem.

Whatever the case, I started with iOS 3.x and got myself all the way to 6.1.2 before having a single battery complaint.

I have been having the same problems with ios 6.1.3. I have had problems since buying my new Ipad mini back in December with all of the ios updates.

Apple replaced the device once. But the new device is starting to do what the old device did. It is loosing power quickly. Up to thee percent in 15 mins.

I went back to Apple and they did a check on the Ipad mini device and the guy at the store said it was fine. So I am stumped.

I have the Internet turned off. I have notifications turned off. My mail is set to manual fetch. Siri is turned off. iCloud is turned off. Automatic downloads are turned off. The iPad mini is dimmed to 50 percent as well. Basically everything has to be turned off in order for the Ipad mini to function at all. One off the reasons I bought the Ipad mini was to use the very functions I have to turn off.

I restored the Ipad mini back to factory settings and then reinstalled everything via my eternal hard drive.

The restore seems to help for about one day. Enough for the ipad

mini 's charge to go back down to 0. Then I recharge the Ipad Mini and I have the charging problems all over.

Within about 30 min my Ipad mini is at 95%. Any advice on what I can do to stop this from happen.

My friend is having the same battery trouble with their IPhone 4 gen with 6.1.3. She has notifications turned off. Her mail is set to manual fetch. Her Siri is turned off. Her iCloud is turned off.

My older cousin is having the same trouble with their IPhone 5 on 6.1.3.

You mean people who posted to the thread with 2 million views have forgetten how to post? Or perhaps they don't have a problem. Which would mean the problem is not huge at all.

There is a constant stream of "battery problem" posts that has been going on as long as there have been iPhones. The number for 6.1.3 is small compared to other versions, and even compared to battery reports between updates. And you will note that many of the posts in this thread say that 6.1.3 FIXED the battery drain problem in 6.1.2.

I'll say it again, as I (and others) have already posted. This is NOT a problem specifically with 6.1.3; it is a side effect of updating with apps running. It will happen to a few phones after every update. And it will happen to a few phones between updates. And Apple will never release a fix for it, because it isn't an iOS problem, it is an app problem, usually a problem caused by bad data in an app.

The bottom line is you either live with it forever, or you troubleshoot it yourself and fix it. Or you continue posting how huge a problem it is, instead of spending that time troubleshooting. It may make you feel better to complain or invoke Steve Jobs, but it won't resolve your problem.

BTW, posts about battery drain were just as common when SJ was alive.

It's the update. My wife and I both normally have >50% battery at the end of the day and We have both been ~10% when going to bed since the update. Nothing else has changed for us. It may have something to do with a setting (exchange etc...) but the update caused the problem. Too many of us affected similarly to chalk it up to anything else.

Few minutes ago went from 91-95% at restart.

Same issue on my 4s after updating.

It's a software issue.

And don't tell me to do this that and the other. I've done it all. I even restored my phone as a new device and used it without installing anything and putting email addresses or turning on any features. Same issue.

It is an iOS problem. This needs to be fixed quickly.

Previously on 6.1.2 and have had experienced battery issues so I did a restore via iTunes. Since I was troubleshooting for quite sometime, I have decided NOT to update my carrier settings (which means I do not have the capability to use 4G, nonetheless 3G). I wonder if anyone with you guys has the choice to update carrier settings or not too whenever the phone is fresh from a restore. Quite acceptable to me, just for that reason that 4G LTE is only available in some parts of the country and my location's not included (I am from the Philippines). Battery is still bad but kinda acceptable to me so I let it that way.

Here comes update 6.1.3.

I decided to upgrade. No problems encountered so far so I was happy. Until I noticed that almost all of the locations I've been through, my signal is only on E (or EDGE). It was very frustrating to look for a strong signal, especially when I found out that my bestfriend ( who is only using an iPhone 4 ) has 3G in most of our locations. I usually had tantrums when I see her mobile getting stronger signal than my iPhone5. So then I decided to upgrade my carrier settings (wc enables me to use LTE). I was happy then, both our iPhones are getting strong 3G signal (but still LTE is not available in my loc). But as quickly as I have noticed, the battery is draining quicker. I would usually let wifi on and would sleep for 2-3 hours. It's just frustrating to find out that my battery would drop from 41% to 19% with no use given that I have received several sms and notifications from facebook. Just now as i typed this, I have already losed 4%.

My observation is this... Whenever I look at my usage and standby time, it seems to be running well. I mean, my iPhone would reflect a usage of 8-9 hours on purely wifi. But I do not certainly believe that I have used the phone for 9 full hours. So maybe something in the background is keeping the cpu busy? 9 hours of usage time is pretty acceptable, but with the knowledge that I have only used the phone for 5 hours or less is just unnacceptable to me.
