iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

If thats not the cause why not just release 6.1.4 to fix battery issues as almost everyone complaining?

Almost everyone is not complaining. If 300 million iPhone users complained there would be a lot more than 14 pages of messages. Even this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3391947 - with 2 million views, isn't CLOSE to "everyone". And notice that it is on the same subject, but a year and a half old. So just maybe this isn't a new problem.

But not all users have installed the same apps.

I have this problem since 6.1.2. Apple told me to reset my iPhone and set it as new without any apps but what should I do with an iPhone without apps?

I have deactivated all iCloud things but the problem still remains. Sometimes everything is ok and the next time the battery is empty so soon. Sometimes the iPhone is heating up when I am charging it, sometimes it stays cool.

I hope Apple will fix this problem very soon!

hi, I am iPad 2 user, I have also problem with battery drain.

Before I update software to 6.1.2 my iPad was working (wi-fi, www, e-mail) for a 15-17 hours, now I can work max 11 hours.

I have updated iOS to 6.1.3 but it didn't solved the problem, still max 11 hour.

Is there easy way to downgrade iOS to 6.0.1 ?

I never did jailbreak so I don't have saved my SHSH Blobs :-(

You mean people who posted to the thread with 2 million views have forgetten how to post? Or perhaps they don't have a problem. Which would mean the problem is not huge at all.

There is a constant stream of "battery problem" posts that has been going on as long as there have been iPhones. The number for 6.1.3 is small compared to other versions, and even compared to battery reports between updates. And you will note that many of the posts in this thread say that 6.1.3 FIXED the battery drain problem in 6.1.2.

I'll say it again, as I (and others) have already posted. This is NOT a problem specifically with 6.1.3; it is a side effect of updating with apps running. It will happen to a few phones after every update. And it will happen to a few phones between updates. And Apple will never release a fix for it, because it isn't an iOS problem, it is an app problem, usually a problem caused by bad data in an app.

The bottom line is you either live with it forever, or you troubleshoot it yourself and fix it. Or you continue posting how huge a problem it is, instead of spending that time troubleshooting. It may make you feel better to complain or invoke Steve Jobs, but it won't resolve your problem.

BTW, posts about battery drain were just as common when SJ was alive.

That one is my favorite from Apple, install with no apps? Lets play a game, it's called find the app that's draining your battery?...lol stupid! Come on Apple! Fix this problem! My ipad mini was working great from November 2nd to December 18. When I updated to ios 6.0.2all went down hill from there. Been through all the try a fix. None have them worked. Maybe the first and second day but back to battery drain. Even with just Apple apps, everything off, the battery still drains, had my ipad mini replaced 3 times with a new one. I just feel done with Apple at this point. I really hope they fix this issue, my ipad 2 is still on 6.0.1 and gets 17 hours!! It's the firmware. I have more apps on my ipad 2, ipad mini has a lot less. It's the firmware!! Fix it and fix it right! Because the ipad mini will be the last Apple product I buy. I'm not a rich man, single father with a 17 year old son. I'm getting a headache....I'm done.

Are you an official Apple Support representative?

No. I am a user like you. I've been observing and fixing software issues in iPhones for 5 1/2 years. Apple NEVER officially responds in these user to user forums, and doesn't read them either. Apple catalogs issues with products through reports from genius bars and calls to Apple support. So if you want to get their attention that is the place to go.

What? You work for Apple? What do apps have to do with it? These people are upset, and if they want to vent, let em. If bringing up Steve Jobs makes them feel better, let em. The problem is huge! It's not just the iPhones, it's the iPads, it's the iPods, and me with the ipad mini. Tell me why my ipad 2 on 6.0.1 gets 17 hours? My ipad mini was getting close to that until all these updates.

We have to figure this out our selfs? Lol why? I'm sure all have the same apps, same set up, but the battery problem is still an issue. What happen to just plain old updating? Now it's all these steps you have to take. I can't argue with you Finch. Your always right.
