iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

If you ever checked The apple store review guidelines for submitting an app to the appstore you will come across this point ----

13.2 Apps that rapidly drain the device's battery or generate excessive heat will be rejected.

So if an app is published on the app store after being reviewed by apple it means they have checked for all these things. I am not sure if the app updates are also verified by apple before they are put on the app store. The only thing that would change would be the the newer firmware. Which would be the cause of the problem.

Hey Lawrence, you sound like you know what you're saying. What is your guess on that grey wifi slider issue? I didn't have it until 6.1.2 upgrade straight from 5.1.1. 6.1.3 didn't fix it. Do you think it's the wifi component soldering that got somehow affected by that update? Whadiya think? I got 4s 16gb and without wifi and battery drainage it's just a piece of manour...

The WiFi slider problem has been around a long time also. Apple has a KB article about it: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559

If the steps in this tip don't fix it there may be a hardware problem, either a WiFi antenna connection that's intermittent or a failed WiFi chip. This sounds unlikely, because it happned to you right after the update, but stranger things have happened. Some users say that putting the phone in a ziplock bag, then in a freezer for 15 minutes, will fix it if the the software troubleshooting doesn't fix it.

My battery is absolutely awful. The phone will shut down at around 17%, once plugged back in it'll go up to around 22%. Phone drops 1% roughly every 90 seconds and thats without even doing anything on the phone. I love the apple products but this has really put me off. Why cant apple, one of the richest most knowledgable companies on the planet resolve an issue as simple and as important as battery life? srsly?

when i use the iphone5 to go to surf the internet with the EDGE.the battery life is losing very quickly

almost 1% in 5minutes and sometimes, the consumption of battery life was slow but most is very fast.

i can't believe my new iphone5 of using2 month....

hope apple can fix it in the latest version of ios6

Looks like your stuck with me! Because I don't post useless fixes? None of them work!! Call Apple and complain!! Maybe Apple will do something about it! Apparently a lot of idevices are suffering from firmware updates! Apple reads from a piece of paper, say this, say that. CALL AND COMPLAIN!! Or this will never get fixed! Right to the Internet. Delete some apps? Turn everything off? Reset networking? Restart as new? Drain battery and charge for 12 hours?

You get the point. I tried and tried and nothing works. It's the firmware. Coming here for help is pointless. I offer nothing. Period!
