iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

Today test was with 3G and without location. Same result as yesterday, it was wihtout 3G and with location.

2 options :

- problem comes from combination of 3G and location (test of tomorrow),

- or nothing to see with 3G or location activation, in this case problem could more come from the use some apps or IOS can do with them.

3G (including cell datas) and location are for sure able to drain battery, that's why I'm focusing around it

Battery drainage happened to me even before this new update. It still isn't working out well for me. I can watch for about 30 minutes of McTube if I'm watching my cached videos or about only 1 hour if I'm watching videos not cached. In total, the maximum amount of energy I can get out of my iPod Touch is about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. Please fix, I really need it!

Nobody here can fix it, and Apple don't read each and every message here.

For support, either use your warranty/AppleCare, or file a bug report at bugreport.apple.com (you can log in with the same ID as you use here).

There are enough people having issues, so at the very leasts the updating procedure isn't foolproof, which is a software issue, and thus warrants filing a bug report.

THANKS TO ALL the, I hope, well meaning responders here that say to file a bug report. One was kind enough to leave a link SO ON SIGNING IN and going to link, as my phone drains before my eyes, I am then told that only APPLE DEVELOPERS can file bug reports. So thanks anyway. Currently best tip other than usingSYS ACTIVITY MGR for me is to keep tweeting and retweeting others that we will never consider BUYING A MOBILE APPLE PRODUCT AGAIN TILL THIS FIXED. Tweet it out at least three times a day and RT ANY OTHER ONE YOU SEE

In fact I will invent HASHTAG #6.1.3BatteryDrainage PLS USE!

True, I'd forgotten that you need to register as a developer to file a bugreport on the site I listed. But there's a free membership that comes without costs nor obligations (as long as you do not actually start to develop).

You can als file bugreports at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

which ought to be possible for anyone. You just won't get any feedback.

I find it disturbing that this issue is still ongoing.

I purchased a 32gb white iPhone 5 on the day of release. Right away my battery was dying at twice the rate of my partners. I was getting 4 hours useage. I tried everything but to no avail.

I got so tired of it, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3. Which frankly never quite felt the same. Having owned every iPhone since launch, I missed my iPhone, so after 3 months I routed it out of the drawer and began using it again.

I updated to 6.1.2 and began using the phone again. To my absolute joy, I was getting 8-9 hours usage. I figured they'd fixed the issues and all was good.

Then I updated to 6.1.3 when it was released and since, my battery is back to 4 hours usage max. I'm gutted.

I have tried everything but nothing has worked.

Very disappointed in apple ATM.

FYI: I thought I had all my Mail set to manual with Fetch set to 'Manual' and Push turned OFF. While I was just composing a long email my phone 'dinged' notifying me I have new messages. It seemed odd, I had fetch off.... Checking my settings I noticed an 'advanced' Fetch setting that I was not aware of (new with 6.1.3?). It is located at: Settings > Mail, contacts, calenders > Fetch New Data > Advanced.... You can set each mail account to Fetch or Manual here. Both my accounts were set to fetch (even though fetch was set to manual on previous page). After changing both to 'manual' I tested my accounts and discovered that my Gmail account still recieves new messages when set to manual here??? It only happens when the Mail app has been opened and then closed onto the recent app list (when double clicking home button). It took about 10 minutes for the new message to show up and it only showed as an increased number on the app icon (red circle over app logo) with no audible alert. So far my Yahoo account has not showed any sign of recieving my test 'mail' (been 1+ hour).

So it appears my Gmail account is somehow checking for or recieving 'push' data even though I have it set for only manual checking and the app is not 'in use'.... Not sure if this is something new with 6.1.3 but it may be part of my battery drain since I normally just close my mail app by clicking home and don't bother to actually close it by the double click and 'minus' method. Also odd the yahoo seems to behave differently with the same settings...

Ten days ago, I purchased a new ATT 4s to replace my cracked 4 (which still worked fine, just tired of reading thru the cracks) When I went to sync, I updated to the new ios. I had a week of reading these boards and trying all the tricks to understand why the battery was draining so fast. I did 2 restores. I turned off everything, did hard resets, etc. I went back to the Best Buy a few days ago and exchanged for a new phone. I synced and restored but did not update to the new ios. Everything is now back to normal. I am running all I used to run on the 4, am back to backing up in the cloud, and generally just using a smartphone the way it should be used. I am so happy! There must be a problem with 6.1.3. I will still run 6.1.2. Good luck everybody.
