iOS 6.1.3 battery drainage

Last night I updated my iPhone 4S to a iOS 6.1.3 and now it drains my battery in extremely fast manner. As I started signing in to write this question from my iPhone I already lost 13% of my battery. I never had a problem with a battery and ive been using iphones since the first one. i miss my morning class because of it because my alarm clock didn't because my phone was dead. Please fix it or have no choice but buy Samsung GS4

The most I've been able to casually use my iPhone 4s for is about 8 hours while connected to my home wifi. Anytime I'm on the AT&T 4G cellular network, the battery life is absolute garbage. During lunch today, my battery drained from 68% to 42% in a little over an hour just from surfing the Facebook app and Safari. I'm planning on getting the iPhone 5s in a month or so, so hopefully the battery life will be better on that phone with the new ios 7 software. I just find it a **** shame to have to turn off/restrict numerous features in order to get serviceable battery life at best.

I'm having this issue as well with my 4S, which I have had for less than a year. I just went from 100% to 70% in 2 1/2 hours... on Airplane Mode. Generally, even while in use, I have Location/Bluetooth/Wi-fi/Notifications/Push off, screen dimmed to about 30%, and I religiously close any apps that are not in use (I am a nut about battery conservation). When I recharged last night, I had drained down to 10% first.

My 3 1/2-year-old 3G still got 9-10 days on standby when I replaced it. I never get more than 2-3 days on the 4S, even though I'm always on Airplane Mode when I am not using the phone. This is crazy.

PS: Since everyone's posting stats... since last full charge:

Usage: 1 hour 37 minutes (that's how long I've had it off Airplane Mode today)

Standby: 5 hours 30 minutes

battery down to 68%

What used up 32% of my battery in that time? I haven't made/received a call or text, or used email or anything. Haven't opened any app except Settings. All other apps are closed. CLOSED. No Location Services, Push, Notifications, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on.

When will people realize that we are the guinea pigs for Apple. This battery drain problem is something they should have already addressed. Apple never admits to any problems with their OS or products. Turning off all of the services on the iphone doesn't even fix the problem. And even if it did, who wants a phone that you can't use any of the features that make it useful. They wouldn't even admit the iPad had a screen leakage problem. I tried 5 times to get an iPad without the problem. Gave up and got a refund. This battery problem has finally done it for me. I was going to switch from a PC to a Mac with my next computer purchase, but I'm tired of being the guinea pig "tester" for their "chinese junk". NO MORE APPLE FOR ME!!!!!!!!

Hey man! What's with the RACIAL SLUR???? If you are ****** off with Apple, then keep it within Apple products! You don't include irresponsible comments. If you read through the worthy posts in this thread, you will find good suggestions that would get your battery problems fixed. All it takes is just a few minutes of your time. If people like you would stop making unneccessary comments on the thread, then it would be much faster to find the solutions that everybody needs.

I've commented on here before but the battery life of both mine and my wife's iPhone 4 (both with IOS 6) has, this week gone crazy. From full charge, with nothing running and no usage, my wife's phone goes to 10% in less than 8 hours. Mine was not as bad as this but today... charged to 100% at 14:15; again with NOTHING running (no bluetooth OR wifi OR apps) it was at 90% within an hour and now less than two hours later it's at 84%. I can practically see the indicator ticking down. Both phones are about 18 months old.

IOS 7, from what I read makes it worse so I've no plans to go there.

The steps on page 1 didn't work for me (tried numerous times). Although I found a (unsatisfactory) solution (& cause) is to disable iCloud Mail, then EVERYTHING went back to normal (Bat life, performance) enabling iCloud Mail bring the prob straight back. It got so bad iCloud mail wasn't ever downloading mail, just eternally checking & killing my bat life. So Apple is forcing me to use Gmail, instead of their own mail service, would be laughable if it wasn't so ridiculous.

Mine did exactly the same, was great then overnight went from a full day usage to 4hours. I thought the battery was shot so had a new one fitted. Still the ssme problem. After a second charge of the day the battery died at 5pm. I put it on charge at 9pm over night and the phone never came back on again. Had to have original battery fitted as it had 18% when i had it changed to get the phone back on. Tried fully charging it then switching it off for an hour to see if it still drained and when i switched it back on it would be at 90%??? Tried all sorts of suggested ways and nothing helps. This problem just occured overnight. Unfortunatly my battery died again before i could charge it in time and once again im without my iphone 5! This needs sorting

Been their done it, tried. Apple have to take responsibility and compensate when all alternatives have failed. As wit my phone, although they were fully aware what would happen with introduction of ios7, they have not taken ownership of problems caused by them. I now have a dead phone not fit for purpose. On the positive i now know who apple are. Best of luck. No doubt as previously this comment will be removed
