I have the same thing. it took me a few days to search for a solution. I took it back to apple store and they claim that my wifi is no good and it needed to be replace. it works fine before the software update. So the Mother's day turn out to be a bad day for me going about the IPhone's wifi for no real solution. all the instruction they give to me is only good for the first 5 to 10 minutes for the first time then it completely turn off.

Such as reset the Network on the iphone, reset the Iphone and reboot the iphone. all coming to a dead end. WIFI TURN OFF.

Here's what I know. I'm on my third replacement iPhone 4S in two weeks. Thanks to Apple Care plus. Yesterday there were 5 of us at the Genius Bar. All 5 of us had 6.1.3. All 5 of us had greyed out WIFI buttons. All 5 of us got new phones.

Must have been a coincidence I guess.

There are 20 iPhones in my office that were on 6.1.3, and the iPhone 5s are now on 6.1.4. None of them have a WiFi problem. Coincidence, I guess.

I'm not entirely convinced its a hardware issue.

Most people didn't have a problem (myself included) until the update to 6.1.3

Just waiting for Apple to update the software again so that I can sell this piece of junk.

My android is working great!!

From my recent experiences I can not for the life of me understand how so many people like apple so much. Not even an acknowledgement of the problem and estimated fix time.

Guess Apple have taken a leaf out of EA's book.

Most people don't have a problem AFTER the update to 6.1.3 either. But SOME people have reported this problem going back 5 years. It isn't something that is new out of the blue with 6.1.3. That's why Apple has a Knowledge Base article on it that was first published 5 years ago: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559.

Despite your condescending attitude towards people looking for help that may or may not have paid attention to the entire thread like you have, perhaps you should have paid attention to what he was actually talking about- 5 iphone 4S devices (read: not iphone 5).

None of these phones are able to upgrade to IOS 6.1.4 contrary to your "coincidence" you "guessed" above.

Therein is the problem, and the reason why your rebuttal was fallacy at best.

I own two iPads without the problem (iPad 2 and iPad 4) and also an iPhone 5 wihch doesn't have the issue since like you mentioned, is upgraded to the magical IOS 6.1.4.

I also have one of the 4S phones with this issue- Wi-Fi is greyed out, Bluetooth in eternal load of death, and a multitude of SOFTWARE crash notes in the system logs of the phone noting the FIRMWARE failed AFTER the UPDATE made to the phone to 4.1.3.

Clearly, it's NOT hardware related, and NO HARDWARE should have to be put into a freezer to make up for it.

Regardless of how long it's been annotated as a "comeback bug" in IOS, it's not acceptable by any means no matter how you spin it.

Actually ive noticed something odd regarding the wi-fi problems....

I use a Ipad3 for wi-fi usage and i am having the same exact problems.....

I find one thing odd about all this on my ipad i find some address regarding some bluetooth that i don't recall registering at all in fact i turned the ****** the bluetooth function off the whole time i started using it.

Maybe the bluetooth is the cause of the problems cause ive checked all my other devices which don't have the current 6.1.3 upgrade mind you and they work just fine.

So I have not ready all of the posts here, but here's maybe a new wrinkle. My wife and I swapped our devices -Galaxy S3 and iPhone 4S- last Sat. We let local Sprint store do the swap- at their recommendation. Got home and the iPhone setting for wifi was greyed out. Called Sprint and after troubleshooting they suggested that I needed to update iTunes and firmaware. Did that and it connected. Next morning though, same prob. Called Sprint again, we wiped phone completely and for an hour I wa able to connect to my home wireless network. Now I am back in the quick again and unable to activate the wifi setting. This CSR said that this was a known issue with v 6.1.3. I believe that to be the dagger as my wife has had this phone for a long time without connectiivity issues.

The CSR also alerted me that they had two tower outages reported locally starting few days ago (wtg Sprint), but I don't think that would cause the issue I am experiencing.

Are there any steps to downgrade to an older version of firmware? Thanks.
