My brand new Iphone 5 was working fine on IOS 6.1.3 . when i went to a friends house after attaching to a wep network ,it stopped working , kept dropping ,somtimes after so many attempts it would connect at very low speeds, and now it would not show any network anywhere at all .i updated to IOs 6.1.4 last night and there has been no change made to the phone .No wifi at all .Thank you Apple for taking our money and working so hard for to give us such a great service

I wonder if theres some sort encoding in the current IOS software thats causing the wi-fi grey out problems to exhist. I believe that the problem is most definatly linked with the bluetooth button in the general settings section.

Its almost as if thebluetooth function is trying search for a bluetooth device that doesnt even exhist at all.

No, there isn't "some sort of encoding in the current iOS software". Unless it has been in every other version. This problem has been reported sporadically for 5 years.

It is definitely linked to BlueTooth, however, because both WiFi and BlueTooth use the same radio chip. And the problem means that either the network settings are corrupted or the radio chip has failed. If the problem is one or the other it is data corruption in iOS; if it is both that usually means that the chip has failed and the phone needs to be replaced.

If the last step, a Restore as New without reloading your backup doesn't fix it your hardware has failed.

The Iphone was replaced for the senond time and guess what. They all have the same problem . wifi problem . i have to drive 30 kms each way to an Apple store for a replacement and no luck . perhaps i should dump this junk called iphone 5 in the garbage and go for an Android phone . are these phones given to people on exchange the same phone with same problems that was brought back by somebody else? It is very shameful

We have 2 iPad 2's and an iPhone 4s that will not connect to the home wifi. So I booked an appointment at the Genius Bar. The iPads both connected to the Apple wifi, so it's not the wifi software, they told me to reset the network settings and switch off the router at the same time. I did this and they STILL WON'T WORK. What is the point having an iPad if it won't work?

We also have two retina iPad's and an iPhone 5 these are both working fine from the same home router with the same 6.1.3 update, is there a know problem with older i devices with 6.1.3 connecting to some wifi?

Do not attempt speaking to an Apple "genius". Yesterday in Reading I had man named Daniel who told me this was a common problem with the iPhone 4 and the new upgrade (basically this upgrade breaks your phone. But, if you are willing to pay £150 Apple will replace it with a refurbished phone).

Asked this "genius" how Apple can break a phone (that I have looked after immaculately) and then ask me to buy another one, when all I want is a phone that worked perfectly until Apple broke it?

This "genius" then proceeded to tell me that he had a "special trick that ONLY genius' were able to do"
> He restored from factory settings (after I had told him I had done this 3-4 times in 2 weeks).

I have always defended Apple when others have said what a money grabing company this is... I have always pointed out that every single person has at one point used a device Apple created or Steve Jobs was behind (the mouse, the digital camera, Monster Inc etc etc), but after being so discriminated against by an Apple "genius" who clearly thought I was too female to understand how a device worked... I am strongly rethinking the purpose of Apple (they belittle the very people they orginally sort as their target audience: graphic designers / programmers / engineers).
I am giving them one last chance to prove that this "genius" is not a true representation of the future of Apple
