Careful! I did that, and they've re-queued episodes of Defiance, etc, but not the ones from this week - only the previous ones.

Last time I forced downloads via Purchased when it broke I was forced to re download them all again when they fixed it. Nearly blew my download quota!

My latest Arrow episode did not download.  I sent support an email with a link to this thread.  Hopefully, they fix it for good this time.

Yeah, having to redownload them and then delete the copies *****.  Luckily I don't have any quotas on my ISP (I assume you use a phone-based plan?)

Last email I sent them, they said they are working on a fix for it, but cant' say when it will be fixed, then told me how to manually download my episodes in the mean time.  Still super annoying.

Just dont understand why they dont acknowledge a problem - replacing the episodes in your download queue might fix for those episodes , but then the next day happens more episodes and still not working.  Surely this must be impacting a Lot of people and should be easy for them to pick up and diagnose.

Truly! When this happened a few weeks ago, they almost immediately acknowledged the issue, worked on it and fixed it. This time they're asking for seemingly stupid stuff like the order number of the season pass and the episodes that are "missing". Even after explaining there are no missing episodes, just that "Check for Available Downloads" has stopped working again, they're insisting on the information. I hope they don't reload my queue with a bunch of stuff I already have....

  • AbsolutGrndZer0 Level 1 (40 points)

Yeah having to browse through all my orders for the past six months to find a single one is so annoying.

I'm having the same problem. Had the same in March.

I sent an email to iTunes Support and they sent me a link to 'Check for Purchases' and a couple of my TV shows downloaded.

This is part of the reply..

'I reviewed your account and it appears that the latest episodes of the TV shows that you reported has been successfully saved/added to your purchase history. You should be able to download it from your Purchased page anytime you want.

For now, I have the reposted the episodes to your account. You may download them by following the steps below:

You can also click this link to do the same thing:

    https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/checkForPurchases

    3) Enter your account name and password, then click the Check button.

The items should begin downloading and appear in your library. If you receive an error message while downloading, try again after turning off any firewall or web-accelerator software that you may have installed. If the download process is interrupted for any reason, it should resume once you reopen iTunes. Once you have downloaded your items, make sure you turn your firewall software back on.

    ........................................................................

But only 2 of the 4 episodes then downloaded.

So hopefully they are trying to fix the problem.

But the don't seem to be prepared to give much away as far as that goes.

I have briefly talked to support via email about this issue.   It seems like this is an inentional chnage made by Apple.  Although current seasons may have issues, newly purchased seasons should work.  I haven't tested this, or looked into it much further, but it appears to me as though Apple is trying to push iTunes in the cloud, primarily as a method for streaming content.  I have been told that there are new options now when purchasing a TV Season which allow the user various options for viewing content without downloads.

Well I have purchased new season passes this last week - same problem. So I think they're just telling us anything and hoping we shut up.

  • Vicky111 Level 1 (0 points)

Yes, I have had the same problem and contacted Apple support.  They sent me a number of articles and links on how to setup downloads.  When I replied that was not the problem, they said they could no longer help me.

  • AbsolutGrndZer0 Level 1 (40 points)

Wow at least they told me they are aware of the issue, but don't have a timeframe for fixing it.

OH and I might add since I JUST noticed tis is the Mac section.. this problem crosses computers, as I am actually a PC user.  So, it must be an issue on their side, not on ours.

Im not entirely sure that this is not working just for US based accounts - a friend just logged in to the australian store and had queued season pass downloads which worked.  I checked for my downloads and still get the same All available purchases message on my US store account even though there is season pass downloads waiting.

Is everyone that is having a problem just using the US store ?

  • kitschcamp Level 1 (0 points)

It isn't affecting UK or Australian accounts. It is affecting my US account.

  • mkbrogers Level 1 (20 points)

Thats what I thought - so begs the question what is different on the back end in the US store and why are people having so much problem getting Apple to rectify ....

This has been going on now for over a month, and not a peep by way of response from Apple.

This is, I hope, very unlike Apple, but I am worried that it may be a new normal.

After all, a month is a long time to wait for not just a response, but a fix.

In this instance, I deem it quite galling of Apple to behave in this way because everyone affected by this have paid in advance for product not yet delivered, i.e. season passes, only to have the deal seemingly altered after the fact.

This leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Can Apple, i.e. the iTunes Store, afford to behave this way?  Do they not see the store competition over their shoulder?

Bottom line, somewhere in first level management inside the store, a manager is asleep at the wheel.  This is my opinion and I hope that I have not underestimated.
