Is there a Find Friends for the Mac?

http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/find-my-friends.html

seems to indicate that there is. That in addition to the Find Friends app for mobile devices that the same service is available on the Mac. The web pages seem to indicate that you can do it using iCloud, but I see nothing in iCloud in System Prefs for Find Friend.

If anybody knows if or how this works, and how to set it up, I'd very much appreciate your help.

Wow, some people are really hard work. I too find it misleading, so by definition the fact that numerous people find it misleading and one person doesnt then yes it's misleading.

I am with the majority of the people who find this page is absolutly is misleading. Even if it wasn't meant to be misleading the fact that they are promoting two different services on the same page with out clearly making the distiction is a complete disaster moreover I think we have all come to expect more from apple's marketing team. Truly makes me remeber how apple thrived under Steve Jobs leadership. I swear by apple products and they continue to lead the industry with their inovative technology and so I am sure that the Find my Friends app will be made available for Macbook and iMac's. If even just a few of us write an email to them making the request/suggestion they will make it happen.

one posible solution could be if you could install "find my friends" on the XCode ios Simulator.

All devices would have to have that feature enabled and agree between devices before you can find them.

I don't really find it misleading but I do think that if iCloud is advertised as the digital hub and works across all Apple devices, and Find my Friends is advertised as part of iCloud, then Find my Friends should work on the Mac. If not, then they should advertise it as a separate app which is not related to iCloud.

This is not really directed at you, Tom, but at everyone: the best option if you find the webpage misleading, and/or you want to see a FMF for Mac, would be to go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

I think one of the reasons it seems ambiguous is that the iPad pictured on the webpage looks like a MacBook screen. It doesn't say it's available on OSX, but the visual cues make one think it is. Too intuitition going on! Still it would be neat if there were a consistency with OSX here. Any device, any time, any where - won't always be a reality but FMF should port to OSX easily enough.

I was confused as well. Interestingly, there is an app that will show you the location of your iPhone (https://www.apple.com/icloud/find-my-iphone.html).
