MBP Freezes After Startup - Fixed Version Cue Already!

Hi,

I installed the OS X security update last week and i had the problem where after boot-up I can see the mouse pointer but the entire desktop is frozen. I deleted Adobe Version Cue from the Startup Items and that solved the problem.

Until today, the SAME thing started happening. I have NOTHING in my startup items. At this point, I can't use the computer unless I do Safe Boot and then it works ok. The only thing I can pin it on is that the first freeze up happened when I was running Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 and converting a document to PDF. It froze and then every subsequent reboot freezes about 10-20 seconds after startup.

Heeeeelp 🙂

Elvis,
If you have access to another Macintosh with a FireWire port, you can connect the two machines, boot up your ailing Mac while holding down the T key, and your ailing Mac's hard drive will show up as an external hard drive on your other machine. You can then transfer your files to the other computer. This is what I did to backup my files before reinstalling the OS.

Hey,

I had the exact same problem: printing to PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0, my system crashed and on reboot the keyboard and mouse click were frozen, not usable.

I rebooted in safe mode (holding down shift key at startup), and went into the Applications/Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 folder and launched the Acrobat Uninstall application.

Reboot and it was solved User uploaded file ****, I don't know what exact part of Acrobat Pro is problematic.

Cheers,
SJ
