Anyone else having "No service" problem after update to 6.1.3? iPhone 4S

I went from iOS 6.0 to iOS 6.1.3 last week and now I have "No service". Happend right after update. I have done everything I can to try to fix it except restore to earlier iOS, which is not possible with iPhone 4S. My SIM works fine in my older iPhone 4 with iOS 6.0.

I have tried to reset all settings, network settings, restore from DFU mode, recover/restore mode. As a fresh phone. NOTHING makes a difference.

Anyone else having this problem? I now have a feeling that I have to pay for it to be fixed (probably just giving me a new phone). All just because I wanted to update my iPhone. This is Apple's fault, not mine. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to report that after a few weeks with the No Service problem, yesterday the problem magically disappeared.

I experienced this on the two iPhones in our household. No iOS were updated (running the latest 6.1.4), no apps were unisntalled or added. The only thing that I can think of is that our service provider, Three (UK) were having problems in the area.

Best of luck to everyone who are experiencing issues.

My iPhone 4s worked perfectly for 10 months until I loaded 6.1.3. Been suffering from "No Service" from the day I went to 6.1.3. Maybe Apple is trying to tell us that from now on there will be "No Service" from their side. Someone metioned that their model number starting with MD has the problem and the other phone with different model number is fine. I checked mine and it also starts with MD. Mine is MD258SO/A. Any other users that has this problem with the model number starting with MD?

mine is a MC603DN/A model and does it as well. after 2 days after resetting and not restoring it started to do again. i had the phone serviced and they could not make the problem happen. sometimes it does 10times in hour sometimes it does 1time per day. when no service and i shut it down then it boots up with no service not asking for SIM card pin. 2nd reboot usually works or hangs on Unlocking... sim card. then another reboot and it works again. for a while. seems to me as a pure software error. waiting for a fix but can not use it like this omg...

I've had the same issue ever since I updated to 6.1.3 on my iPhone 4s. At first, I thought it was something to do with my carrier since my phone is unlocked (not jailbroken) and I was using it first with Rogers in Canada, then in the UK on the O2 network and now back to Rogers in Canada. But even when I was in the UK, I had no issues whatsoever. It was only when I upgraded that I started having issues. I have had this phone for 1.5 years now and have not had any issues until now.

My phone has been going from "Searching..." to "No Service" to showing as running on 3G but nothing actually working, including making phone calls. I keep getting "Call Failed" whenever I try to make a call.

It does this ALL day, and I constantly have to put toggle on/off Airplane mode or restart the phone for it to gain signal again. It's frustrating because I don't actually know whether anyone has tried to contact me unless I do this resetting of my signal/rebooting of my phone, which I do literally 20+ times a day.

I tried my SIM in another iPhone 5 and it works perfectly as well as in Samsung phones (SIII and Note II), so doesn't look like it's a SIM problem.

It has been sitting at "No Service" all day today and it was only when I turned off 3G that I got signal again. As soon as I turn 3G back on, it goes back to "No Service".

Model Number starts with MD as well.

I do not know what else to do anymore. Sometimes these "fixes" work, sometimes they don't. I love Apple but I am seriously losing faith at this time.

Has anyone had any permanent fixes that they can suggest? Pleasee? 😟

I also experienced the "No Service" problem after upgrading to 6.1.3. But here is how I fixed the problem.

I did a complete factory restore of the OS 6.1.3. Right after it finished installing, my installation said that there are new network software and settings for my provider that it wants to download and install. DONT INSTALL THIS !!!!!!! This is what was causing the **** on my iPhone. Since the 21st June I had not yet had one "No Service" screen. Yes, every now and then a message would come up on my phone telling me that there are new network software available especially when connecting to iTunes. Just ignore it and dont give it permission to update the phone.

Good luck all.

Started having this problem after the 6.1.3 ios update as well. Went to apple store and they found nothing wrong with the hardware. They suggested I 'upgrade' to an iphone 5 for $200 😮 I didn't want to so the guy I talked with suggested I 'rollback' to an earlier version of iOS and I could just goolge how to do that 😠 He was basically telling me my only shot was to jailbreak the phone. Now I am wasting hours trying to fix the problem Apple uploaded onto my phone. I am angry at apple for this situation and for not providing a fix for customers except for "upgrading to iphone5"...it feels like a money scheme honestly.
