Anyone else having "No service" problem after update to 6.1.3? iPhone 4S

I went from iOS 6.0 to iOS 6.1.3 last week and now I have "No service". Happend right after update. I have done everything I can to try to fix it except restore to earlier iOS, which is not possible with iPhone 4S. My SIM works fine in my older iPhone 4 with iOS 6.0.

I have tried to reset all settings, network settings, restore from DFU mode, recover/restore mode. As a fresh phone. NOTHING makes a difference.

Anyone else having this problem? I now have a feeling that I have to pay for it to be fixed (probably just giving me a new phone). All just because I wanted to update my iPhone. This is Apple's fault, not mine. Thank you.

So my iphone 4s IOS 6.1.3 went to the no service mode completely 3 days ago. So I go to AT&T (my carrier) and got my sim card replaced, no luck. So we took the original sim card from my iphone and tried it in on one of the store's iphones and it worked perfectly so its definetley not the sim card. By the way picking up wifi is no problem at all so I figured it was just the network radio that went bad and ordered a new iphone 5 since I was due for an upgarde anyway. Still having the same no service problem with a completely new phone ***!!!

And yes I have already tried reseting network settings, airplane mode and a complete reset to factory settings. Is this AT&T or Apple?

Tmoore1: And your reply did..?

Snoopdonk: It seems like - and I spoke to a guy who worked for apple for many years - this is a combo, and has to do with both the phone AND your carrier. Now I didn't do nothing yet (since I'm using my old phone instead), but my question for you is: Is your phone locked to AT&T?

Did you send apple info about this?

Best regards

I'm pretty sure they just said that to blow you off. This problem has been documented on these forums for over a year! It's insane.

I finally hooked up my phone to my Linux box, and ran the idevicesyslog app to see what was going on. After telling it to do a complete wipe and watching the activation process,

As soon as I get to the "Next" option after choosing a wireless network, it says "Activating your iPhone".. Still says "Searching.." in the top left.. and this pops up in the logs

May 11 19:07:08 iPhone CommCenter[59] <Notice>: Saving log files as /var/wireless/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Baseband/log-bb-2013-05-11-19-07-08-*

May 11 19:07:08 iPhone CommCenter[59] <Notice>: CSI state dump requested: Modem Bootup Failure:

Every time I do that that's the error.

Now I'm going to try and see if I can pull off that Baseband log somehow.

Hi everyone, I just updated my iPhone 4S to 6.1.3 and now I have a terrible headache...

Same problem here. What I discovered after many attemps, is that it will gain signal if I deactive 3G cellular data. Everytime I turn on 3G, it goes back to "No service".

Mine it's an unlocked phone. Called the carrier (im from Argentina) and they said they will investigate and call again in 24hs... tried EVERYTHING, getting the same result.

I will update if have any news.

Hope this is fixed soon !!!

good news (for me).recently i have changed my sim card and also changed network operator.by the way i am living in italy and my phone 4s had problems with TIM and H3G.same no service issue like all u--today i have bought one sim card of "WIND".and i hv got signals in my iphone..i have noticed that if i change 3g to normal gprs mode on active or dis active cellular data.signals escapes but if i don't touch these icons in settings ,signal bar remains in iphone and i can call or send messages .after 3 months i am back on iphone so i am happy

now i tell my experiences to all iphone holders which have no service problem...may be it helps to some one.

okkk...in italy there are 4 famous network operators

1-tim

2-vodaphone

3-wind

4-h3g

now with latest tecnology "4g" tim, vodaphone and h3g are working, but wind is still on previous tecnology means gprs and 3g connections,no 4g is available for wind..i thing this is a problem because here all network operators want money to use new signal tecnology ,i.e 4g or lte..

so guy check ur country if there is any network which is using just gprs connection or has only 3g connection.it may be work for u..

if it works for some one i will be happy.

Unless they fix this quick, I'm never buying another Apple product. I've been through 3 IPhones in a year and I'm getting tired of it. My first 3GS crashed (bad software), then used a "backup" 3G that also crashed. Now I'm using a 3GS with 6.1.3 and it's randomly dropping service, and nothing I do helps. We pay loads of money for Smart Phones and data plans, and we can't use them due to defects. I may be old fashioned, but If I pay over $100 on something, I expect it to work!!! I'm sick of this, Apple. Get your crap together. And get it fixed, or you're losing this customer. It's like buying a car... I'm not going to buy one that I know is bad about breaking down. Just like I'm not going to by a phone that isn't dependable when I need it. I'll be waiting for this issue to be fixed. If it doesn't happen, so long Apple. Hope you don't go under for poor quality service. That's all I have to say.

Btw my iPhone 3GS is unlocked, NOT Jailbroken, has IOS 6.1.3, and AT&T is my carrier.
