I had another update come in on Flash Player last week. Had the same problems.

So, I tried something different. I went to the Adobe Website and asked it to download the latest version of Flash Player and it downloaded version 12 for the Mac envorinment. I installed it and it didn't ask me to shut down the Dashboard. It took two tries to get it to install. But the Dashboard thing wasn't a problem.

Not sure why this worked. Before doing this, I had installed the one the updater wanted to install having the message about killing the Dashboard. I went to Activity Monitor and killed the DOC and then it installed, but it wasn't the latest version for Mac (OSX 10.91, Mavericks). It was version 11.something.

When I downloaded it from the Abode site, it gave me version 12.0.

So, you might try this is you are having trouble installing the Adobe Flash Player.

Well I WORKS. Had downloaded Flash installer 12 but couldn't get it to work, until I shut my imac down dor a min.. Restarted it and this time FlashPlayer12 installed.

Question in reading about ActivityMonitor and DOCK. i couldn't figure out how in the world to ForceQuit DOCK?

When i spoltlighted Dock it brought up SystemPreference Dock. How do you then get to Dock Icon to ForceQuit?

Thanks for helping me get FlashPlayer12 and yes help in figuring out how to ForceQuit Dock in SystemsPreference would be appreciated
