Bad print to new Epson after OS X update

After doing the last update from 10.8.3 we have been unable to get good prints to our new Epson printers (7890 and 9890). Has anyone heard of this or better still knows how to correcr this? I have tried resetting the print system and reinstalling the driver, I contacted Epson support but they were not useful.

I wouldn't say that avoiding future OSX updates is the best idea.

I am ruuning the most updated OSX (to date 6-19-13) but i am still running the 8.66 driver for the 7900.

Macmommy's simple checkbox fix is still working perfectly.

For what it's worth, I did make an attempt to update the 7900 driver, and for whatever reason, it didn't "stick".

Hi all: i experienced same problem in June with my iMac 10.8.3 and latest epson driver (9.04) and solved it using Gary Fong method. Up till now (oct 2013 ) no problems. Have consistently refused to update OS 10.8.3 to 10.8.4 inspite of repeated notifications by apple. Does anyone have any updated info about whether apple and epson have reconciled their incompatibility? Should I continue to refuse upgrading to 10.8.4 ? Thanks for any help.
