My superdrive started ejecting Redbox DVD and known good single owner DVD today after trying to read the disc for a few minutes.

Problems started about 2 weeks ago, said skipping bad portions of DVD. Had about 4 of those issues, maybe linked to Redbox movie only disks that are missing bonus material.

Next problems was extreme slow with copy protection error message after 15 minutes.

Redbox DVD hung the OS and power cycled to clear.

Today no DVD's play in superdrive.

Drive may be dirty/malfunctioning or worse.

DVD works in old automobile DVD player.

Next step clean/replace superdrive and test.
