epson printer software update 2.14 killed my printer

On Mac OS X 10.7.5 - after epson printer software update 2.14 my 9890 started printing images "smeared" out of register across the page.

Over an hour with Epson tech ended with trashing the /Library/Printers/EPSON folder and downgrading to the previous driver. This fixed the 9890 but left my R1900 disabled. R1900 software is no longer available as a stand-alone install - only through Sofware Update. But that will kill my 9890.

Epson tech said it's Apple's fault and they need to fix it.

Apple, where's the fix?

If I can find a way to post it, I'll put a link to the 5.3.15 version up here. I hate that I can't turn off the update. My Mac keeps telling me "Hey ! You need to update this to the one that doesn't work!". :D

Hi Joel,

The Driver works great and has fixed my going off line problem. Do you htink the next update of OSX will load a new driver and break this fix? In other words should I keep this Driver source to make this fix when Apple breaks it again?
