It's also coincidence that it went "bung" after 2.2.1, 3.0, 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0, 6.1, 6.1.1, an 6.1.2.

The fact is that you are nothing special, and 6.1.3 isn't anything special.

There is no permanent fix here. We all have to help oursleves. Here is what I did:

1. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>iCloud

2. Turn off everything from mail to find my iPhone, but do not delete anything. Leave everything in your phone or iPad.

3. Follow the same proceedure for every mail account you have.

4. Go to Fetch New Data, turn off Push, and check Manual. Go to Advanced at the bottom, and swtich everything to Manual.

5. Go to Privacy>Location and turn it off.

6. Set Brightness to Auto

7. Kill all open apps. Reset the phone by holding both Power and Home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

8. Go back to Settings and turn your settings back on except for Push.

You will still experience some drain as the phone will try to sync everything back. If it still persists, then run the battery down until the phone turns off and charge it for four hours at least.

For me, I have Wifi on, bluetooth and mobile data off. I only turn on mobile data when I need it.

There are other fixes like Resetting all Settings, but this is the simplest and it usually works. You may have to do it a couple of times though. Just try it.

How I fixed my battery life:

The first problem was with iTunes Store and App Store in Settings: whenever I am logged in with my Apple ID my battery life on cellular is simply unacceptable. And I mean it: it drains from 100% to zero while on cellular data in two hours of use and 4 hours of uptime.

So: log off. My uptime went from 4 to 19 hours.

Second problem: it turns out one of my iCloud calendar is broken and causes battery drain - not that much drainage as with previous problem but still. How did I identified which one was it? Becuase when I try to delete this calendar from Mac OS X Calendar it tells me that there is no access to iCloud account (server response "403" for operation CalDAVRemoveCalendarQueueableOperation).

Since 6.1.2 I've tried everything, I have something like 15 backups of different configuration of my iPhone, with different thing switched on/off, of course I've tried DFU. I was using my phone with everything turned off - but there is no need to cripple your phone. Just log out from iTunes/Appstore in Settings, check if Your iCloud calendar is not in some crazy-forever-syncing state.

It is possible that it's not the whole list of battery drain issues: i.e. Safari bookmark synicng may cause a drainage.

I hope this tips will help. Good luck.

You are trembling upon the brink of incoherence. And I would suggest that somebody who has been awarded over 16000 points by posters thanking him for the help provided, might have a reasonable grasp on reality...

1. (*teetering* on the brink - sorry, but not sorry about the grammar policing)

2. Points mean that one was helpful, often. However, it does not necessarily follow that they will be helpful in all situations.

3. Insulting or ridiculing others, however small the slight, regardles of whether their problem is real or perceived is not only unhelpful, it is childish.

4. May I suggest that if points could be deducted for negative or antisocial behaviour, that person in question would not be sitting on 16,000 points.

5. If you don't have a problem, then you cannot contribute to "help", in fact you are unable to help. But what puts you in a position to tell someone else they are imagining this problem with their device? It's illogical. Think over it.

To keep OT, I have this problem, set up my ip5 6.1.3 brand new, no restores, been to apple twice and DFU'd, and re-setup from new (so that's 3 brand new, no restore setups).

I suspect it has to do with the way I use iOS, my 6.1.3 iPad 3 was also noticeably quicker to burn through it's battery. There's nothing wrong with the hardware - I put it on airplane mode, and after 8 hours on standby it's 100%. Also on my old iPhone 4. since 6.1.2. (it really is quite unlikely the hardware)

The hardware seems to run quite hot too, doesn't seem healthy for the phone. I've tried quite a few of the solutions and they don't work for me.

Yes, it could be software corruption, but anyway DFUs don't fix it.

I'm an IT professional, an app store developer in fact. There is definitely something weird going on since 6.1.2, and unfortunately, I do have a lot of apps, it's probably how I use the iphone.

(fwiw, I just sat here after doing a "switch everything off and reboot" and my phone went down 2% after about 60 minutes, without me even turning the screen on - so that's just weird)

I completely disagree that someone is supposedly incapable of helping if he himself isn't experiencing an issue. There are plenty of people who work in IT that have never experienced the issues that they're helping their customers with, but they know how to resolve the issue through knowledge and availability of information. We're all just trying to do our best here

I have had to same issue with the battery would drop massively over night by just sitting there.

But the other day I found a way to dramatically reduce battery drain.

Go to Settings > General > Cellular > and switch off Cellular Data and Enable 3G.

User uploaded file

And you should immediately notice a battery difference, this is good if you use WiFi regularly.

This helped me alot went between 12am to 9am from 96% to 90% and that also included WiFi and Bluetooth turned off, The only reason by battery is on 43% is because I have been using the same charge for 2 days.

Hope this helps 🙂
