I have a 16 GB Iphone 5 from sprint, ever since the update from ios 6.1.3 to ios 6.1.4 I have literally been charging my phone 3 times a day, and i am Rarely on the phone...i kill every running app often....My wifi is turned off...GPS off...Brightness all the way down...and my Phone is sitting idle most of the time other than a few emails and phone calls - It's Absolutely Horrendous how badly Apple has fallen, and i for one am completely ****** off by the Quality/Dependability/Reliability of the phone, I just don't get it. Not only is it Bad quality, but it is Completely unsafe - If someone is in a potential Hazardous situation, and their battery is Dying every 4 **** hours (If they're lucky) and they potentially lose their life for the reason of not being able to call someone in a potentially dangerous situation...how does that Make you feel? This is just a push from Apple so they Manipulate the Public, so you "Have" to buy a mobile charger. This Update alone is all i need to know, and it is My last stand with Apple. You have Just lost another customer, with MANY more to follow. It's an Absolute shame because i Love the phone itself, but i Need a phone that's Reliable! Apple is NOT. They changed everything, including the Charger type from the last Model because All they are looking for, is the Money. Well, Apple - Quality/Dependability/Reliability/and Customer care are all traits you used to have, you need to get back to it before it's too late, Word of Mouth is getting around pretty **** quickly, so i suggest you do something rapidly before you lose ALL your customers. You, Unfortunately - have just lost Another! You need to get your Morals in Order Apple! God doesn't reward Liars and Thieves, You are nothing but Money grabbers, for the Wrong reasons. #it always comes right back around. You are no longer the Primary, in the eyes of Many anymore. Goodnight, God Bless, Goodbye Apple

Yet another victim of 6.1.4 -- have tried all of the recommended solutions, have "closed" all apps manually with the multi-tasking bar, have rebooted with and without data service, etc. And just for the record, I have never had Facebook installed. Pretty average user on an iPhone 5: light phone usage, light email and messaging, occasional app/data usage, though mostly via WiFi at home/office. Prior to the 6.1.4 upgrade, my phone would easily go 48 hours on a full charge, but after the 6.1.4 upgrade will now make it only 4-5 hours. And it is often physically warm to the touch, presumably indicating that some process is cruising along chewing up battery power like mad.

Any word from Apple yet, or are we all just hung out to dry? Don't remember Apple mentioning this at WWDC yesterday. On the contrary -- they extolled the virtues of longer battery life with iOS7. I would settle for just getting back my 48 hour battery life with iOS6 ...

Funny that you say that because I see all kinds of android forums with the same battery life issues. The problem is this is a smart phone and batteries haven't caught up to how we use these devices. Just because you are not using it at the time doen't mean the battery isn't being used. The phone is on all the time, how else do you expect it to get a call, text or any thing else?

UPDATE: I erased the phone and did a restore from backup. I didn't do it as a "new" phone and reload everything because I didn't want to deal with the issues if I didn't have to.

Well, thinks are a LITTLE better, but not as good as they should be. I'm no longer losing 50% of my battery in the first 2 hours off the charger, but the battery life still isn't as good as 6.1.3.

I got the same problem and I turned of LTE, and turned of all the location services I don't need to keep running, they will activate when you need it anyway. I kept 3G and Wifi on and did a hard reset. The Bluetooth is off by default. After this the battery drainage is back to normal. During the night on standby it started with 100% and it still had 100% after 7 hrs standby.

The following day I left it charging during the night and started the day 07.00 had normal use including 15 min talking, SMS, surfing and e-mail. At 16.00 battery was 82%, this is very acceptable.

I am still using 6.1.3 (iPhone 4GS) and have just recently starting having this same problem. It seems it's not the carrier, nor the iOS version. I restored to factory settings, then restored to back up. I've rebooted. One person has suggested removing and reinserting the battery, or just replacing the battery. I haven't tried either of those. It's very frustrating. I've never had this problem before. the only thing that I did differently was installed a new app, but then removed it once this problem started.
