Can´t install OSX on my G4 quicksilver 733!!!

Hi.

I have a G4 quicksilver 733 with the standard 128Mb RAM, 40Gb HD, cd-rw.

I used to have 9.2.2 and 10.1.5 installed and running.

The OSX stoped to work some time ago (>12 months), but I needed only the Classic...

I´m trying to install the OSX (on a new HD) again with no luck.

I have 10.1 retail CD and 10.4 retal cds.

The 10.1 installs ok, but only boots on safe mode (holding down shift). The normal boot show me a gray screen.

The 10.4 install cd can´t boot at all. I can select the cd to boot (holding option) and boot halts on a blue screen.

What I´m doing wrong???

Thanks.

PowerMac, Mac OS 9.2.x, QuickSilver 733

Sergio,

Once you get the hard drive issue straightened out, before starting your Mac, try a PRAM reset.

Power up the Mac then immediately hold down the Command-Option-P-R keys together and let the iMac go through two sets of chimes, then let go of the keys to reset the PRAM.

If this doesn't help the situation or it it does, but only for a short while then the PRAM needs replacing.

When you do this, you may have to reset your Mac's Date and Time and startup disk in OS X System Prefernces Pane.
