iPad 2 wifi issues after iOS 6.1.3 update

I have had an iPad 2 since they were first released. It is wi-fi + 3G and had been accessing wi-fi everywhere (work, home, public) without problems...until the iOS 6.1.3 upgrade. Since then it is unable to find networks. If and when it does, the signal is weak and is after a few minutes. Here is what I have done:

1) Reset the iPad by turning it completely off and turning it back on.

2) Reset the iPad by holding down the home button and the on/off button until it reset itself.

3) Reset the Network by going to Setting/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings

4) Took it to the Apple Retail Store, where the "Genius" told me to restore it as a "New Device". I did so to no avail.

5) I let the battery run out completely, connected it to the power cord, and as soon as I was able to go to Settings, I turned wi-fi on and off and on again.

6) I reset the router at home several times.

None of these things worked! The problem persists and I am frustrated. So much so, that I have learned the iPad mini is having the same issues and altough I had planned on buying one for my wife for mother's day, I refuse to make the investment. I'm starting to be turned off by Apple and its games. The fact that the Genius Bar is so booked only tells me their devices seem to have more problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions or additional work arounds to the iPad 2 wifi problems with the iOS 6.1.3 update? Does anyone know if and when Apple plans to address this growing issue?

Thanks

I have the same problem since I updated ipad2 can't find my access point or it does and I only get 1bar,I called apple and after trouble shooting steps didn't work I was told that they would replace it if I forked over 250.00,I got very upset and asked to speak to a supervisor explained the issue and finally they are going to repair my iPad for free.so if anybody sees this post try that and I hope it works.if it does post a reply so I know good luck.also I've found that if you hold the power button and home button for a couple seconds the connection pops up but goes away quick hope this helps

So, just an update on my situation. I finally found some time to go into Apple and they scoped out my iPad 2. The guy said he didn't know the problem and couldn't run a network diagnostic because I didn't have wifi and it could've been a faulty wireless antenna. He took it back and literally gave me a new iPad. Not exactly sure what happened, my iPad was still very young (~3 months old). Might be the easy suggestion to fixing your ipad.

Same thing here. Within a week, 2 Apple devices just would not work (iPad and Apple TV Mirroring). Did all the stuff that was suggested above, no luck. Anyway, much of the time I'm in a place where I can't just go a re-set a router (coffee shops, hotels, airports etc). What Apple suggests is really not a solution at all.

Does anyone know how to go back to an earlier version of iOs?

Are all of you using iPad that have wifi AND cellular? or wifi only devices?

I have an iPad mini (wifi and cellular), no problems and an iPad 2 (wifi only), it has never faultered.

We also have a bunch of other Apple gadgets...

The latest update caused a ton of Apps to need updates (kids and free Apps).

I do have an Apple router, the airport extreme, and it's the best router I've had in the past 3 years. After contant problems with 2 Motorola routers, a Belkin and a NetGear (sniff - when it worked, it was the best!),

iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad mini and The new iPad, 2 iPod Touch 4's and an iPod Touch 5, all working fine.

Suggestion:

**When Apps crash after many updates, the best fix is to delete the App (which has become something of a frankenstein monster with many patches), and redownload the App. Possibly, the solution for you system on the iPad also?

It means backing up the device, resetting all settings and content (wiping the device of all content), set up again as if it were new, then restore from the backup.

To Gazdzzy, who wrote:

"Since updating to IOS6 on my iPad (4th Gen), the Wifi connection has been extremely slow and "choppy". I have tried every optimising every single setting on my wireless router (my wife says I can be a tech support now) but nothing works."

If you have a 4th Generation iPad, it CAME WITH IOS 6 already installed. There have been updates to IOS 6, but as you are running on the new platform and hardware, you are not effected.

I suggest you check you Internet carrier, modem and router.
