iPad 2 wifi issues after iOS 6.1.3 update

I have had an iPad 2 since they were first released. It is wi-fi + 3G and had been accessing wi-fi everywhere (work, home, public) without problems...until the iOS 6.1.3 upgrade. Since then it is unable to find networks. If and when it does, the signal is weak and is after a few minutes. Here is what I have done:

1) Reset the iPad by turning it completely off and turning it back on.

2) Reset the iPad by holding down the home button and the on/off button until it reset itself.

3) Reset the Network by going to Setting/General/Reset/Reset Network Settings

4) Took it to the Apple Retail Store, where the "Genius" told me to restore it as a "New Device". I did so to no avail.

5) I let the battery run out completely, connected it to the power cord, and as soon as I was able to go to Settings, I turned wi-fi on and off and on again.

6) I reset the router at home several times.

None of these things worked! The problem persists and I am frustrated. So much so, that I have learned the iPad mini is having the same issues and altough I had planned on buying one for my wife for mother's day, I refuse to make the investment. I'm starting to be turned off by Apple and its games. The fact that the Genius Bar is so booked only tells me their devices seem to have more problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions or additional work arounds to the iPad 2 wifi problems with the iOS 6.1.3 update? Does anyone know if and when Apple plans to address this growing issue?

Thanks

It's been almost 3 months since I've been able to use my ipad because of this 6.1.3 os wifi connection issue. To say I am deeply disappointed is an understatement. I've visited the Apple store and spoken with the Apple IT team on the phone in an attempt to fix the issue. During that process I was told I'd need to pay for support services.

Now I don't mind paying if it were something I'd done, but out of principal I am not willing to pay any additional money to Apple to fix an issue they created.

I will not be purchasing any further Apple products. I will not be recommending Apple to my family members, friends or colleagues. I will not think of Apple as the superior product on the market any further. You have lost a loyal customer and from what I've read in this forum, I'm not alone in my frustration.

Do something about your customer service. At this point, Apple will no longer be a consideration in my future technology purchases. This has been the worst support I've ever seen for a high dollar product.

Extremely disappointed.

Since I update to iOS 6.1.3 on my Ipad 2my power button stopped working and even lost function of the mute button and the volume up ability. Strangely I can use the volume down button. And my screen stopped rotating. I assumed it was a malfunction of the buttons but I took it in and the buttons seemed to be ok and replacing the didn't help.

Very annoyed! I can only assume its Apple's way to get me to buy a new IPad...well I think I'll try an Android instead...and I was so loyal to Apple having all 3 different devices...

I totally get where you are coming from, the same thing has happened to me. I have tried apple support and the genius bar but they all told me the fault was with my network and not the device. I have been holding out for the past three months thinking that ios7 would fix the issue. Unfortunately, I installed it this morning and no change in wifi reception, still doesn't work unless I'm within ten feet of the router.

I feel really let down by apple and basically ignored, I know a lot of others have had the same problem and are voting with their feet. I'm due for a phone ungrade soon and I'll be switching to a Samsung S4. I've lost all faith in apple, I don't know whether they have run out of ideas or just don't really give a sh*t about their customers. At least when Steve Jobs was around they still had some integrity, now they are just another faceless corp out to satify shareholders at any cost. This is the end of the road for me and apple, I doubt they care but enough people have been and continue to be effected by their complacency that eventually it will start to hurt their bottom line.

dude dont get the S4, go for the htc one instead. ive gone from iphone 3, 3g, 4, 5 and ay he same time ive also had a galaxy note, s4 and now htc one. never been happier. it beats the s4 hands down and its such a great phone and solidly built. am thinking of getting rid of the ipad 3 and getting the nexus or xperia z too. howeve i still love the macboom air, which is still the best OS and hardware available.
