Wireless Keyboard Won't conenct to my iMac

Ok, what happens when I turn on my iMac the next day i worked on it and it doesn't connect to my previously paired wireless keyboard? I just can connect my mouse but i can't write with my mouse to enter the password for my user account, so, I can't access to my Bluetooth settings.

I turn on my iMac o turn on my wireless apple magic mouse and Wireless keyboard

The Magic mouse and the keyboard were previously paired with the iMac

My iMac gets into the login screen, "type your username and password to continue" screen...

The magic mouse gets detected and start working

The keyboard doesn`t get detected and enters in Discovery Mode (Led flashing)

Can't type password....

can´t Work...

Fixes that I already tried:

Shutting down the iMac, Disconnect every single wire, Press the Start button on the "disconnected iMac" for 60 seconds, Reconnect the iMac, Restart, Try conencting the wireless devices... IT DIDN'T WORK.

Any Suggestion?

PS: I am on a Beach miles away from any USB KEYBOARD

Thanks for trying, Mario, but these links don't address the issue we are all having - the computer cannot be used at all because, without the trackpad, we are unable to sign in with the password. It would appear (and please correct me if I'm mistaken) that one must locate a USB keyboard in order to remedy the problem of not being able to sign in. My own keyboard was paired the last time I used it but has somehow become "unpaired" overnight....there should be a way to bypass this conundrum, but I cannot see how... thanks.

I had the same issue, restarted my iMac and neither the track pad or keyboard would connect. Luckily the track pad is 2nd gen, so I could connect it with lightning cable. Unfortunately the keyboard is first gen so there's nothing to connect to. After fiddling with it for awhile I was able to get the keyboard to repair with the Mac.

I had to shut down the computer and turn the keyboard on to discovery mode (blinking green light), then turn on the computer.

NOTE: This method will only work if the keyboard was previously paired with the Mac.

this problem happened to me. last night i was using the bluetooth keyboard to type all my passwords into appleTV which great thou stickykeys (accessibly) doesn't work on appleTV.

this morning keyboard wouldn't work on my iMac.

WHY DOES BLUETOOTH ONLY SYNC TO ONE DEVICE AT A TIME?

it took me about an hour using the Guest account System Preferences to sync the keyboard back to my iMac. i used the Keyboard and Bluetooth menus and it still was having a hard time finding the keyboard. i replaced the batteries. it's hard to tell if the keyboard is off or on .... green light no matter what. i knew when the light blinks it's trying to sync at that moment.

thank goodness for the password free Guest account.
