what I thought was a joke, but it did worked for me. just i thought i was going to go Apple store, i saw this post of putting knee on the Ipad which completely blacked out, it worked as a charm.

Hard reset will never help you , try more to twist it right and lift and it will work just give it more tries

Same thing here...black screen on ipad 1...hit it with the old knee and then with the hand...bam...suddenly turned on...thanks riley...

Nice tip there Riley Stewat, accidentally dropped mine and the screen went blank so that makes sense knocking back in place.
