I have no good news for you because I've tried everything to undisable my own Apple ID!! I had one of my grand kids use my phone as hers needed repair! Her and a friend racked up a bill playing games and had my debit.card closed and got a new one! Could that be why? I was totally unaware and maybe stupid even but I never knew that would happen! So stuck!!

Most of the people on here, including myself, are fellow users, we won't know why it's been disabled.

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'

If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone then try logging out of your account on the phone by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I tried all of the suggestions after getting this message on my iPad. I even called Apple support, and after 30 minutes on the phone, they assured me that my account was now enabled and would work after 10 minutes. Guess what, still the same unspecific message that my Apple ID is disabled.

What a shame. There must be a serious problem with the Apple Store servers if this is happening to so many people.
