Thunderbolt Firmware Update v1.2 - Graphics Glitch Afterwards

Installed the Thunderbolt Firmware Update v1.2 which came out today and immediatly after update started experiencing choppy graphics when scrolling, especially in the Mac App Store. Swipe between screens and dock magnification also causes glitch.

While keeping everything unplugged expect keyboard, tried:

Reset PRAM

Reset SMC

New Account

Changed Resolution

10.8.3 Combo Update

Repaired Permissions

Recovery Mode -> Safari

Placed a call to AppleCare earlier and they are supposed to be calling me back shortly after looking into the matter.

With this being a firmware update, only the first two things I did logically would correct the issue. Any other ideas?

Update: I think the update may have done something to my monitor. Just by chance I noticed the System preferences open in the external moniter when a bright light was shining on the monitor. I could just see the window but the screen was dark. I had to shine a flash light directly onto the screen to see the open window. Seems to me the backlight can't be burned out or nothing would be visible. I took a screen shot of the window and it looked perfectly normal when viewed on the laptops monitor with everything outside of the pref window black. Adjusting the brightness etc., in the monitors menu had no effect. I've never seen anything like this before. I'm pretty sure the monitors toast because even when I turn it on with no computer plugged in the pop up message indicating there is no input signal is dark and barely visible just like when a computer is plugged in.

Huh.....Don't you think something's wrong here? I mean don't you think it is quite weird that a guy who has a "healty" Mac has to go to the "Genius" to replace a logic board after a Thunderbolt update? Frankly, I'm not very sure I'll go with this one.

UPDATE: Just got my 15" Retina back from the Apple Store, the "logic board" was replaced (U$ 530.00) (thanks G under warranty). Also, during the update something also happened to my external monitor, but after a day without powering up, the monitor is back to normal.

Just to clarify, my 15" Retina is only 4 months old, and yes, was the firmware update the one to %&^& the ports. I didn't disconnect the monitor during the process (was not requested by the update documentation or step by step during the process), so lesson learned here.

Of course, now the software update shows again the “firmware update” , and of course no %$% I am going to apply the update.

Today I got my iMac back from the Apple Store after they've had it for a couple weeks. The reason they've had it that long isn't because they've been trying to solve the issue, but because AppleCare has been working on replacing the machine with a new one. Let me explain...

I dropped the machine off May 18, 2013 at the Apple Store for logic board replacement. Within a few days Apple technicians notified me that the logic board was replaced (and LCD display after they cracked it) and that the choppy graphics issue remained. They were out of repair ideas and were ready to return me my iMac with the issue persisting. There only other option was to have the Apple engineering team work on the fix (supposedly there are others with this same issue). I let them keep the machine for the time being in hopes for this said fix and its return in a repaired condition. In the meantime I decided to see if AppleCare would replace this machine.

AppleCare was very helpful and after working with them through this matter they are shipping me a new replacement iMac.

One last note, plugging this iMac back in today with its new logic board presented me a Thunderbolt Firmware Update v1.2 through the software update. Crossing my fingers I reapplied it, but sadly to say nothing was resolved.
