This sounds strange and may well be a software bug. To overcome this, try a reset,

Reset your iPad by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPad will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.

Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

Good luck and do report back.

I have reset my iPad over and over since I first started experiencing this problem. It started even before the last software update. I have searched the communities an tried many of the suggestions that other users have said worked for them, but with no luck. Now my date and time can't find the appropriate time zone when set to automatic even though the WiFi connection is strong and solid. Getting really frustrated with this :(

Thanks, but I've looked over these topics, and I can't find anything that works. I've even reset all of my settings back to factory. No luck. I don't understand why my iPhone recognizes my FaceTime and iMessage accounts, but my iPad doesn't. I have successfully used both on my iPad in the past, and now neither will work from my iPad.

Sounds like your network settings need to be reset. Go Settings Icon/General/Reset (Last Option (Bottom)/Reset Network Settings.

You may also want to go to Settings/Facetime and check that the can be reached at are correct.

Good Luck!
